I recently had invoiced a client who I went in for ‘early’ and on ‘my day off’ to do as a favour to fit her in, only to have her cancel at 5 minutes before her appointment. To her credit, she immediately paid the cancellation fee, but then never came back She made me feel guilty for charging her when all I actu...ally did was turn up? So why was I the bad guy? 18.01.2022 There’s a lot of concern out there within the nail industry since re-opening about some salons not abiding by Covid 19 government guidelines as far as sanitation, mandatory checklists displayed, registers etc. I think we know what salons that I’m talking about I’m going to add a list of phone numbers that anybody can call if they believe salons are doing the wrong thing. Whether it be via social distancing, sanitation, cleanliness using foot spas etc. Not wanting us to all become nail police, but I just need you all to realize that with certain salons doing the wrong thing, the increased likely hood of us all being closed down again. So indirectly it will effect you and future appts. Please share if you feel as strongly about these dodgy salons as I do

17.01.2022 So yes I am back in the salon, but no I am not back at work full-time. Why you ask? Because being at work from 7 AM in the morning till 7 PM at night, going home and getting it up doing it all over again, day after day, is not living, it’s just surviving, and for me, it’s no longer what life‘s about. Not in this new world, post Pandemic. No one will remember me as that nail tech that worked her butt off. Its not what make me happy and my happiness matters. Life for me is ab...out the sun, the surf, the beach. Riding my bike and paddling at the creek. Being happy, being healthy, spending time with my family and friends. That’s what makes me happy, and when I’m happy, I’m healthy, and I matter, my life matters. When I’m dead and gone, no one is going to remember me for the car I drive, the house I live in or the brand of handbag I wear. That won’t matter. The last few months have opened my eyes about people, and the world, and the part we all choose to play in it. And some of our choices are not based on what makes YOU happy. I have only one life to live and I’m going to live it the best way I can by looking after me. Who else will look after you better than yourself. Who else know what u need better than you do. Everything took ages with doing all full sets and all the pre and post sanitize, Covid register, making sure everyone’s safe, but it’s a new normal we’re heading into and I’m fine with it.
