Deadlifts are an excellent movement to improve all body strength when done correctly. ... Muscles targeted: Deadlifts build lower-body strength by targeting your: * trapezius * back * abdominals * glutes * hips * adductors * quadriceps * hamstrings Hex Bar Deadlift variation places more significant stress on your: * quadriceps and * upper trapezius, and less strain on your: * hamstrings, * glutes, and * lower back. Romanian Deadlift and Stiff Legged Deadlifts target your hamstrings more than the Conventional Deadlift form, making them ideal for people wishing to strengthen this area. They also put less pressure on your low back and are ideal for people with back pain. The RDL develops a lot of strength through the posterior chain, because you maintain a rigid and long spine throughout the entire exercise. Although I have numerous back and neck injuries, I feel to manage the pain for me it’s important to hit Lower Body twice a week so there is time to develop both styles.
