24.01.2022 Not long now! Isn’t the Marian Grove New Release looking great? The welcome rain has held our external finishes tradies up a little bit but even with COVID-19 social distancing regulations the interiors are 95% finished. The next stage will be operationalising the building before occupation, once the project is handed over. So there are only a few more months until we can look forward to new residents joining our Village community. 08.01.2022 REAL PEOPLE - REAL STORIES ! Brand new resident Peggy was looking for almost two years before she found out about the New Release, back when it was still a building project. I think being on my own, after a couple of falls and having two acres to look after made me think about things she said. I wanted to find somewhere where I didn’t have to worry about maintenance, or mowing the lawns, I wanted somewhere I could just shut up the place and go. I looked at Woolgoolga, a...nd Urunga, but then this place came up and I thought, that’s exactly what I want, somewhere close to everything, the airport, the hospital, the beach, that was the best thing about it, that’s why I decided to come and have a look. When she saw the location and the plans, Peggy was even more excited. I wanted somewhere I could be up and have a view, and have a brand new place, it really appealed to me. I thought this could be my home until I get old! Peggy says she is independent and likes to do things her own way. Your kids have their own lives but here I’m close enough to them to walk and see them, walk to watch them play soccer and just come back and be comfortable in my own home, or have them over to visit me. So what about that move? Oh there were plenty of things going on she says but I had all the help I needed to get organized. It was marvellous customer service, Michelle was there with me every step of the way, answering every question and making it all as smooth as possible. Now that she’s settled, Peggy has no regrets. l’ll be honest, I did have a moment where I thought- have I done the right thing she says. I mean, coming from two acres, with a house with a wood fire and all the animals and the space, it does make you wonder. But then I remember the first night I was here, I just kept finding more and more cupboards to put things away in, it was like Christmas! My sister came to visit and she couldn’t believe it. It’s just so homely, she kept saying, look at the bathroom and the kitchen, I can see why you felt the way you do. It’s like a brand new start for me.Everything I need is here! Thanks to Gurmesh Singh - MP and Deputy Mayor George Cecato for their the time and supportive words and for cutting the ceremonial ribbon.
