20.01.2022 Are there any areas of your life that you're unhappy with, which are preventing you from living the life you want? I am constantly asking myself this question, and reflecting on how I can be come a better person, learn a new skill, etc. We all know we need to change in some areas of our life, right. ... Change can seem really challenging. But change is the only constant in our lives. We crawled, we walked, we ran. Our bodies are constantly changing. At work, we experiences new things and people every day. We come home and our hear our children and partner talking about the new things which they have happened in their lives. Change is in the AIR.... We should be used to change, should'nt we. But many of us are afraid of change and can see it as a negative rather than a positive in our life. To grow we need to be open to change. I love this saying......"Green and growing or ripe and rotting" Here are some great questions to ask yourself. 1. A clear and courageous new change I could make in my life would be to.... 2. What is this change going to give me specifically.... 3. What will my life be like in a years time if I don't create this change and take action now.... 4. How does creating this change in my life make me feel.... Do you accept the challenge to change one small thing in your life TODAY, to create a better version of you? Challenges stretch us and grows our abilities, they are pathways to progression in our life. Step into the full version of who you came here to be. #changeonethingnow #changeisconstant #acceptthechallenge

18.01.2022 Today is the day!!!! Nurturing "Soul Medicine for Nurses" Retreat is being held at beautiful ZEN Beach Retreat Bargara starting at 3pm today untill Sunday 11am. An intimate group of 16 Nurses from around Qld will be attending the region, to gain knowledge, recharge their batteries and get some well deserved Medicine for their Soul's.... Nurses often don't take the time to STOP and nurture themselves, they are so busy caring for others that putting them first is not always a priority. This weekend is about shinning the light on them, celebrating their greatness and teaching them new ways of thinking, to take back into the workplace to help them become even more resilient. Aside from all the learnings, there will be time for a nuturing swim in the magnesium pool, a stroll along the beach at Sunrise, a massage from local massage therapists and of course a Champaign dinner under the stars. I am sure these dedicated Nurses will really love Bargara and will bring their families back to enjoy the beautiful Wide Bay Region. ZEN BEACH with "Heart of Nursing" is the place to be this Weekend if you are a Nurse Heart of Nursing is also hosting a Soul Medicine for Nurses Cruise to Hamilton Island from Brisbane in April. 70 Nurses from Qld and NSW are attending. Heart of Nursing holds Soul Medicine for Nurses Workshops, Retreats and Cruises all around Australia and NZ Nurturing Nurses, inspiring and empowering them to have a voice. Heart of Nursing is about reigniting Courage, Compassion & Connection into the Nursing profession. Have an awesome weekend...I know I am going too. Much Heart Marie

13.01.2022 GET CURIOUS, ASK QUESTIONS. People and situations are not always as they seem either. Never assume, because we all know what that stands for right!... It makes an ASS out of U and ME

13.01.2022 For those of you who have been following my page for a while you may have noticed a transformation and wondered what the heck I have been doing. (NO I HAVE NOT HAD COSTLY WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY) I made a very empowering discovery. ... For many years I blamed myself for over eating, not exercising enough, not having enough will power....the list goes on and on....and on. I had tried every DIET known to man....all with varying success. I exercised like a mad woman and punished myself silly. Oh...I would lose weight on these diets alright....only to put it all back on and then some....while the exercise was great for my mental health....It did not really move the fat off my body and my joints could not hack the pressure I was putting it under. How soul destoying right!!! Who can relate to this....who has felt the guilt...the shame and the total despondency as time and time again you feel like you have failed, that you are to blame. I know I was sick and tired of not fitting in, embaressed when I went shopping for clothes and nothing I liked was in my size. I longed to be able to wear something that did not look like a sack. Everything changed for me when I realised it was not my fault!!!!! OMG...even saying this brings those emotions rushing back, and the tears are welling up, at the reality of what I am about to share with you!!! IT WAS NOT MY FAULT!!! Thats right....I discovered that..... I was Insulin Resistant and Carbohydrate Intolerant, my body could not process the excess glucose which eating excessive amount of carbs turns into. Actually my body was protecting my organs by dumping the glucose into my fat cells. Eating this way was making me fatter and fatter, my body was not only fat but inflammed. I was heading for all sorts of trouble and I was in a world of pain both mentally and physically. LCHF saved me. I began a WOE ( Way of Eating) that has absolutely helped my body heal. I not only shed all of my unwanted excess fat, I reduce inflammation and dramatically reduce my menopausal symptoms. I have gone from a size 20-22 to a 10-12. March 2017 I was on my 50th Birthday cruise. I did not realise how overweight I was. Looking back what a transformation, it is March 2018 and in 8 days I will turn 51. My body is still healing and transforming, I love feeling alive, healthy and most of all I love feeling sexy and young again. I trust this has inspired and motivated you to perhaps get curious enough to discover if this WOE is for you. Please PM if you have any questions. Marie.

05.01.2022 I suspect it is hard to love a nurse. We get up early or we work all night. We come home late and are too tired to cook. We work extra because we know there are sick people who need us. We miss weekend events, holidays, birthdays. We don't get too excited over your minor "boo-boo". We have seen far worse. We don't want to talk when we come home. We have talked all day. We don't want to move when we come home. We have moved all day. It may seem that we have left all our cari...ng, our heart, and our love at work, then have come home to you empty. We probably have. But we don't tell you that many times at work that we are mired by anxiety, we are scared. Scared we are missing something. Scared we will let our patient down or worse. Scared that we'll have to deal with angry or violent patients and families. We don't tell you how the staffing crisis makes us cry on the way to work, to do a job we love, but now we are terrified to do because it is breaking us down while putting the most vulnerable at risk. I suspect it is hard to love a nurse, but know this: Your nurse needs your love. Needs your understanding. Needs to know that you "get it". Needs to be the one taken care of every once in while. Needs someone else to take charge of the details because doing it herself constantly is exhausting. Needs his/her feet rubbed. Needs a shoulder to cry on when she can't even tell you why she's grieving. Needs you to do the hardest work you may ever do, which is to love a nurse. I would like to thank those of you out there who love us and let us do this work, this calling, this life: Nursing.

03.01.2022 A MUST READ - REAL & RAW Amanda Hart is the Authour of "The Guys Upstairs", she is the beautiful Soul who's newsletter I contribute to each month. Amanda's story is a hero's journey.... Not everyone of us has been through what Amanda has had to endure. However as you continue to read you can't help by being pulled into the horrors of her life as page by page you are left in disbelief that a human being could possibly be treated this way. Connecting to Amanda's raw vulnerability allows the reader to cry along with her, hurt and feel scared, and lost, and absolutely know, that if Amanda can overcome adversity like this, anything is possible for them to conquer. When Amanda connects and trusts the guys upstairs, we begin to wonder about a kind of relationship with those guys upstairs, like this for ourselves. This story helps us to see all things are possible. If Amanda can overcome what she has been through then as the reader so can we. Amanda doesn’t profess to have all the answers, nor has she conquered all of her fears. She is real, she has scars and she has learned through adversity there is always a way forward, there are always solutions for your challenges. She shows you that the only thing that matters is discovering your true self worth. 10/10 for Amanda's honesty, vulnerability and for her courage to stand up for, and to ask for what she wants in life. The Guys Upstairs leaves you knowing you too can do the same. https://www.amazon.co.uk//ref=cm_sw_r_cp_ep_dp_3VAJAb836ZH
