25.01.2022 In this time please be very mindful about the use of technology, your posture We are all culprits of this but Have you heard of Text Neck??? Is your posture to blame for your neck pain and headaches??? Muscles become tight ligaments are stretched beyond their usual movement and your joints become fixated Text neck is one way to refer to the posture we adopt when on our phones even computers This position puts a lot of extra weight on out necks and upper back approx every 3...cm your neck move forwards it doubles in weight When your head is looking down at your phone it can be tripled in weight which can add and extra 10 kg of pressure to your neck and upper back This extra pressure changes the way our neck works muscles become tight ligaments are stretched beyond their usual movement and your joints become fixated All these changes can cause pain and other symptoms... so think twice before you decide to play on our phones and computers See more

21.01.2022 Dont let a difficult day get to you during this time, reach out its only a phone call/text messsage that can turn your frown into a smile "Today was a Difficult Day," said Pooh. There was a pause.... "Do you want to talk about it?" asked Piglet. "No," said Pooh after a bit. "No, I dont think I do." "Thats okay," said Piglet, and he came and sat beside his friend. "What are you doing?" asked Pooh. "Nothing, really," said Piglet. "Only, I know what Difficult Days are like. I quite often dont feel like talking about it on my Difficult Days either. "But goodness," continued Piglet, "Difficult Days are so much easier when you know youve got someone there for you. And Ill always be here for you, Pooh." And as Pooh sat there, working through in his head his Difficult Day, while the solid, reliable Piglet sat next to him quietly, swinging his little legs...he thought that his best friend had never been more right." A.A. Milne Sending thoughts to those having a Difficult Day today and hope you have your own Piglet to sit beside you

20.01.2022 As soon as I was qualified 12 years ago, this was my first job working as a remedial therapist on carnival cruise lines, from the moment I stepped on board, with over 1500 crew changing every week due to individual contracts, from Being a stranger to be able to call them family even till this day, it was one experience I never forget so this post has touched me and seeing some off my crew waiting to go home since February due to covid 19 this post I had to share this post Something I saw on my crew life page... You dont see this too often! A very special moment as the first of 18 of our ships come to meet each other off the coast of the Bahamas as we continue to help bring our crew members safely home

18.01.2022 Why it is important to start looking after yourself and getting some tlc??? The nervous system controls both voluntary action like conscious movement and involuntary actions (like breathing), and sends signals to different parts of the body, The central nervous system includes the brain and spinal cord. The peripheral nervous system consists of nerves that connect every other part of the body to the central nervous system. The bodies muscular system consists of about 650 mus...cles that aid in movement by walking, talking, sitting, standing, eating and other daily functions that people consciously perform but also help to maintain posture and circulate blood and other substances throughout the body, among other functions... here are three types of muscle: skeletal muscle which is connected to bone and helps with voluntary movement, smooth muscle which is found inside organs and helps to move substances through organs, and cardiac muscle which is found in the heart and helps pump blood... I may not be the most relaxing person to come to or help in every ones situation but there is over 600 billion people to get treatment from who are in the health profession so read my key points and start looking after yourself cause trust me know one else will your stressed out your not getting enough sleep putting extra stress on to your body muscles soreness feeling down or depressed suffering from regular headaches A lot more I can continue on but I just leave it short sharp take care of your body its the only place you live, its time to start caring for your self and put your health first... once one system is down in your body it affects the whole body and functioning See more

Regularly drinking water speeds up our metabolism and makes us feel more full while promoting good physical m...ental and emotional health... No excuses to avoid water, hydrate your body everyday Just remember you have one place that you live in and thats your body look after it with tlc... #stopwithexcuses See more

18.01.2022 The sciatic nerve is the longest and largest nerve in the body And its probably the most common diagnosis Sciatica can be quite weak for patients, especially when it becomes chronic/persistent To oversimplify sciatica is a term typically used to describe numbness tingling pain down the back of the leg typically following a specific pattern based on the idea that specific nerve roots cause specific areas of pain symptoms Clinically this isnt black and white symptoms may no...t always follow the exact route of the sciatic nerve. Sometimes with my clients I can get symptoms to centralise or essentially go more proximal Typically symptom centralization leads to better results and is often a goal in the early stages of rehab. Sometimes we can get symptoms to centralised with specific directions such as lumbar side bending, extension, even flexion. Reading this may sound quite vague, but the assessment of these symptoms is where the specific information comes in Until then, its just a general framework and a hypothesis Which is also why I cant give you the best exercise for your nerve pain in your leg without assessing you. And why I always recommend if the pain is affecting your life to that extent to go see your practitioner See more

18.01.2022 What better band to parody 2020 than Nickelback

17.01.2022 I see and hear a lot of people complaining. opportunities in life wishing they had a better jobs etc , list can go on I lost my past identity I didn’t know any better the day I had to decide 14 years ago I say to myself what if I didn’t loose my memory where would I be??? Would I have done all the things I have done now??? Will I have the met the people that have crossed my path??? Instead of being grateful and the opportunities that have come my way.I had to wake up to myse...lf, and say what happened to me, was meant to be, I had to re grow and learn my pathway. I gave up on massive opportunities, looking back there was a reason, why I said no, just wake up be grateful for what you have and always have s smile on your face. This is my destiny!!! looking back on my Life, I’m happy fir what I have done and surrounded my life with across the world... Believe in yourself, Write your goals down , What ever it may be, we have so many choices with one life... Marie Saran

16.01.2022 Take a look at the how the ligaments and tendons move in this dissected knee. The knee is designed as a hinge joint, which means that is primarily designed to move about one axis. This is performed by a multidimensional set of muscles, ligaments, and tendons all of which help support the massive amounts of force required to keep a person upright and/or in motion. Although the knee is able to move slightly outside of its primary rotational plane, too much force can cause a str...uctural tear of these structures, which are often the internal knee ligaments such as the Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). These injuries often cause instability of the underlying joint, preventing the from returning to athletic activity and require surgery to fix. One common sports injury is the unhappy triad of an ACL, MCL and medial meniscus tear, although some more recent data suggests that lateral meniscus tears may also be common See more

14.01.2022 R U OK??? Take a deep breath and ask the question. You dont need to have all the answers. Just letting that person know that you care and that they are worthy of being cared about is sometimes enough

Lower Motor Neurons (LMN): cells originating within the spinal cord that send long processes called axons out of the spinal cord all the way to muscle where they synapse to cause muscle contraction

09.01.2022 To be honest this made me cry well done to The Royal Melbourne Hospital

08.01.2022 With this pandemic, how many of us have noticed working from home we are sitting down more??? Hip stability and pelvic alignment play a big part in optimal functioning of the body and posture. Although a lot of muscles are involved in pelvic alignment this is a great diagram showing what tight hip flexors can do to your posture, especially those sitting in a desk all day Anterior Pelvic tilt shown on the right which a lot of the general population suffer from, is a big contributor to lower back pain, poor lower body mechanics and movements which often result in chronic pain or other injuries! Fix it before it becomes a problem, and if your not sure how to fix this see an allied health professional. (Sorry I will keep you updated when Im back with mobile service)

08.01.2022 Never trust a special deal...

07.01.2022 Yes I have posted this one before and I will continue to repost it... as receiving texts, calls Lockdown continues, out of routine when the study is set up long hours on the computer, well before you continue reading for all my laptop clients I just have the answer for you... This is why I recommend to my all clients get up and MOVE... In an ideal world everyone would be free to move around and do as they wished, yet we arent living in an ideal world. We live in a realisti...c world and in this realistic world we must maintain jobs/careers to feed our family and maintain our hobbies outside of said jobs/careers. First off Id like to address the consequences of staying immobile for majority of the day, similar to a desk bound employee at an office. When you are static or immobile the surfaces of connective tissue begin to dry out and they begin to stick together or glue together. Which means when you stand up to move again your body is literally glued in the seated position. Making it harder to attain a natural walking posture, if you remain seated for long enough it can take much longer than the initial time to restore your body to normal loose and:mobile connective tissues. Your lymphatic system is driven with pressure. For those that dont know you lymphatic system does a bunch of cool stuff. E.g. it contains lymphocytes and other white blood cells and one major function is the defence of your immune system. It also provides an accessory route for blood flow, and also contains waste products and bacteria and helps to clear the toxins/waste products from the body. When you remain static/immobile the amount of muscular contractions (driving force of the lymphatic system) is very low. (Bad thing) Your ability to regulate your lymphatic system is poor and so is your ability to clear waste products from your body and regulate your immune system. The human body has evolved with movement, sitting behind a desk is a rather static activity. When we move we shift the pressures upon our body transferring load throughout our muscular and fascia systems. When we remain still its much harder for the body to evenly load the force across the whole system. The force is generally loaded through a section of the body not the whole system. Blood flow is restricted when you have minimal movement, it should be fairly obvious that if you have less blood flow to your brain than your productivity is going to drop...

06.01.2022 And why forward is the ONLY direction!!! The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company a church a home. The remarkable thing is, we have a choice every d...ay regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past We cannot change the fact that people will act a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is plan on the one thing we have, and that is our attitude I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you We are in charge of our attitudes... with this journey ahead of me it will play a big part on others its how I control to embrace it and make it through it See more

06.01.2022 12 years ago where my journey began , as soon as I was qualified to become a therapists, my first job in my career was working on cruise ships, Carnival Destiny. a year later coming back home, it has led me to work with local clubs, which then I had the opportunity to open up my own Business. Working with local clubs, I got myself into a Nrl team, a afl team, and Vegas 7s rugby national hockey and Australia hockey team, as I was travelling domestic and internationally twice... a year, as this took a big part of my business, I needed to cut down on my sporting career as a remedial therapists, retiring as a sports therapists I will never regret the opportunities that have crossed my path but a opportunity that I got to see and work with, As most of my clients know being selected for Japan World Cup this year as a remedial therapists, I am always honoured to be representing my country as something I love doing by getting everyone back on the ground...but the end is here of my sporting career See more

03.01.2022 Yes we did break the record 10 years ago when I participated in the Guinness world record to compete in, The longest simultaneous massage world record has been broken on a lavender farm in Victorias spa capital, Daylesford. A total of 536 entrants dressed in black and white rolled out their yoga mats and massaged their way into the world record books. The previous record was set in the United States last year with a total of 334 people. To beat that, the 263 professional ma...ssage therapists that came from around Victoria had to massage their partner continuously for 15 minutes, switching between three different techniques. Chris Sheedy, the Guinness World Records Australia representative says there wasnt any doubt that the record would be broken. "From the queues that were here when I turned up at 7 in the morning, it was obvious that they were going to break the record." See more
