It means busine...sses like outdoor dining, beer gardens, theme parks and zoos, can increase the number of patrons outdoors from one per 4 square metres to one per 2 square metres. The maximum number of attendees permitted at events with a COVID Safe Checklist will increase from 500 to 1,000 per day. Seated capacity at outdoor stadiums, amphitheatres and outdoor performance venues with a COVID Safe Plan can increase from up to 50% to up to 75%. We also beli...eve that this matters now more than ever, as children and families experience the challenges of this pandemic. Why are emotional well-being, relationships and play so important for young children? Here are just a few reasons we want to highlight (we’ll share more throughout the week!): Research shows that children who are socially and emotionally healthy in the early years continue to develop behaviors and skills that help them thrive academically and lead fulfilling lives. When children have secure relationships, they feel SAFE and CONFIDENT. This has a direct positive impact on their brains and their ability to learn. The parts of the brain for reasoning and making decisions light up. Relationships where children feel SAFE and LOVED provide them with a secure base from which to explore, grow independent, play and engage with others. For young children, learning happens in the context of relationships. For example, strong relationships with grown-ups allow them to learn language, express themselves, ask questions and take risks. During this time of change and stress, young children need emotional support and understanding from their grown-ups. They also need grown-ups who allow them plenty of time for play. Play allows them to express their feelings, feel good, make sense of the world around them, and learn, engage, and discover in the best, most natural way possible.
