25.01.2022 Last Saturday (31st October) I married a second generation bride. I married her mother Debbie and had the pleasure of conducting a ceremony for her daughter Nicole. Fortunately the rain held off and they were able to be married in the gardens of Tamburlaine Wines, Pokolbin. The flowers were all Australian such as proteas and flannel flowers absolutely beautiful as was the bride. Congraulations to Nicole and James Sherritt.

24.01.2022 Last Saturday I married Nicole and Brad from Dungog who surprised their friends who thought they were attending their engagement party. Congratulations to them and the secret planning worked and everyone was thrilled. The couple are honeymooning in Hawaii. An easy way to plan a wedding.

22.01.2022 Wendy and I want to thank you for being part of our amazing Wedding last weekend. Everyone was blown away by the ceremony and how good it was. Thank you again for helping to make our Wedding such a wonderful event. Regards Glenn & Wendy, Leogate Winery, Pokobin, 1.6.2019.

21.01.2022 I have been a qualified Civil Celebrant since 1987 when there was only six appointees in the Hunter Region. Now we have hundreds listed. Through my experience (over 2500 weddings) I know I still have a great sense of occasion whether it be a wedding for 20 or 100 guests. This Saturday I am performing my last Hunter-based wedding as I have relocated to Laurieton on the mid north coast. Its been a difficult decision to make but I feel the right one.... As a former journalist I enjoyed engaging my organisational skills and giving attention to every detail. I composed countless beautiful ceremonies that were relevant to my couples and reflected their personalities. I still absolutely love everything about the wedding industry. Being a part of the process of a couple's wedding is one of the most rewarding experiences. I love meeting couples for the first time and hearing all about how they met and what type of ceremony they would like. People asked me if I got bored doing so many ceremonies. My answer was "definitely not". I reminded myself of what it feels like when your wedding day arrives. The entire day, not just the ceremony. In the morning I am aware the bride would most likely be getting her hair and makeup done with her bridal party. At that same time I am probably recharging my PA system and checking off everything I need to pack in the car. I consider myself part of the day and part of the experience. I am involved, and honoured and excited to be such an important part of the occasion. At the actual ceremony, I enjoy talking to the groom and parents and trying to keep him calm while we are waiting for his bride. I love the moment when he turns around to see his future wife walking towards him with most often tears in his eyes. Meeting up with couples years later at another wedding and hearing them say "remember us - you married us 20 years ago!!", is a fantastic thrill especially when they have such fond memories of their wedding day you shared with them. I have now gone full circle. The wedding photographer on Saturday will be my 23-year-old granddaughter Brittney Maloney of Maloney Designs and I am looking forward to sharing this nostalgic moment with her as a new generation wedding professional. I still may continue with a few small weddings around Laurieton if approachedand keep my toe in the water so to speak! With life you never know what's around the corner.

18.01.2022 Sarah Jeffery and Joe Fuller were my first Clarence Town couple married by the river on 24th October. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon and it was a great setting to start married life. Congratulations to them both.

17.01.2022 Just letting everyone know that Phil and I have moved to Laurieton. We have finally settled into our new home and loving it here.

16.01.2022 I performed a wedding ceremony for the most beautiful couple - Lisa and Ben on Saturday 17th. The ceremony was held in the brides parents home at Oakhampton. The setting, flowers, marquee and estate garden filled with shrubs and garden beds was a perfect setting for a very moving ceremony. I am sure this is one wedding which will be featured in the next Hunter Lifestyle Magazine.

05.01.2022 Another year ahead of weddings are coming in. Although I have relocated to Laurieton, just a 2 hr drive to Newcastle) I have still maintained my contacts with weddings and am taking bookings for 2019. This gives me an opportunity to stay over with family and conduct ceremonies who are mostly referrals. Love to hear from anyone contemplating to say "I DO" this year. After 30 years of marrying couples this is still my LOVE JOB. Each and every one is so special and unique.

04.01.2022 On Saturday I married a beautiful couple, Wendy and Glenn at Leogate Estate, Pokolbin. An amazing place to celebrate such an occasion.

04.01.2022 Hi everyone, Just wanted to advise that I have relocated to live at Laurieton on the mid north coast - Camden Haven district. I am returning to the Hunter to do three more weddings which had been long booked finishing on 3rd November. This will be the conclusion of my 30th year and 2700 weddings in that time. It has been - lots of booked weekends and a long time working as a marriage celebrant. After a few months settling in I will decide whether to continue my celebrant... work. I have met some wonderful couples in that time and it has been an honour to share their special day and wish them every happiness as they start life together as a married couple. All the best to you all, Marilyn See more

02.01.2022 My partner, now husband decided to elope and have an intimate wedding at a beautiful location Valley View at Eaglereach, Vacy. We were surrounded by our close friends, our children and nature. My celebrant well what can I say, she met every expectation from the first time Dimi and I met Marilyn over coffee to discuss our coming nuptial we knew Marilyn was the real deal. She made us feel so comfortable. Dimi and I have been together for quite some time so we didnt feel th...e excitement. Soon as we started planning it with Marilyn oh wow she made it so exciting for us going through what our vows would be including our children in the ceremony. Marilyn always touched base to see how things were going and always made it feel more and more exciting. She made the lead up to the wedding so enjoyable. it was a fantastic and such an emotional day. I cant thank her enough for being there and sharing in our special day. We chose such a warm lady who made us feel like it wasnt just another wedding. Marilyn was a part of our day. She delivered exactly what we wanted and more.xox. Thanks you Marilyn. 02.01.2022 Today my husband Phil and I celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. A wonderful day of memories of the ups and downs we have been dealt with however, we have always tackled life together. I always wish the 2600 couples I have married are so fortunate to have found their soul mate as we have. Heres to the next chapter of our life together.

02.01.2022 It is not often you have the privilege of sharing a wedding day with someone special in your life. I recently married my eldest granddaughter Brittney Mc Carthy to Jake Maloney on 29th April, 2017 at All Saints Church at Woodville. A very special occasion and one which Ill always remember. A perfect way to celebrate my 30th year as a marriage celebrant - perhaps that was the no. 2600 couple I have married. Photography by Captured by Kara
