25.01.2022 Two Rocks Naiad heading out on training day

23.01.2022 An old friend of mine is looking for help to do Rotto swim next year. If anyone is interested let me know...they’re experienced at the Swim but don’t have a boa...t for next year. Hi all, unusual request. We have a team of four swimmers desperately wanting to complete the Rottnest Channel Swim in 2021. We are all experienced and have successfully made the crossing before. We are looking for a suitable boat and skipper for the day. Naturally we will cover all expenses and some more. Also open to raising funds for a worthy charity. We also have a very experienced skipper if needed. Rotto swim is an awesome event and we will definitely have a few laughs on the way over, and celebrate at the end. Please message me if you are interested in helping us out. Any shares greatly appreciated

23.01.2022 Due to the vigilance of the radio operator John Parker in the tower today two divers who had left the beach below the tower to do some fishing had been swept out to sea and were holding onto a cray pot rope for support. John notified the water police and deployed a boat to the scene. The pair were bought aboard the boat and returned to shore. Well done John as the spotter Bill Shean as the skipper John Parker once again as crew and Mike Patton as crew. Well done all of you.

22.01.2022 Last Thursday Marine rescue Two Rocks volunteers took part in a training exercise to manage any potential fuel spillage in conjunction with the Two Rocks marina management. Those that attended and became first responders were Brian Nalder (Commander) Stephen Hyde (Training officer) Billy Shean, Mark Leyland and Colin Blake (Skippers). Our crews would work with Mick Bowra from Two Rocks boat lifters if any request was made.

22.01.2022 A quick shout out to say that John Parker, has taken over the role of FB admin, please do not hesitate to make contact if you have a notification or picture that you want posted. Thank you so much Debbie Leyland for doing all the hard yards to set it up, you are going to be a tough act to follow

19.01.2022 Towing training yesterday for the crews at VMR677. With a good turn out for Wednesday training, (4 on Guardian 1 and 5 on the Sea Guardian 2) it was an ideal opportunity to brush up on recovering and towing a disabled vessel back into the marina and putting it safely alongside the floating dock. Both boats took turns at the recovery and being towed.

18.01.2022 New Feature: Meet the team at Marine Rescue Two Rocks. This feature aims to look at the diverse and often unusual ways we came to be volunteers at VMR677. What we get out of it, and any points of wisdom that a senior member would give a new starter or even a former self.... This months featured volunteer is Kari New. Kari recently joined the group as a radio operator and trainee crew, In her previous career, Kari spent 25 years in technology consulting, most recently leading digital strategies and major programs for large WA and International companies. She has decided to change her career to the humanitarian sector and is currently pursuing Post Graduate Studies in Disaster and Emergency Response. Kari is also a recently qualified Zumba instructor and enjoys Yoga. She volunteers at VM677, with a love for the ocean and boating, and enjoys taking beach walks with "Tibby" her Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier puppy .

18.01.2022 3 young men had a very lucky break this evening after their 5.5m boat sank up the coast. Marine Rescue Two Rocks and the police chopper managed to find them after one of the three managed to keep his cell phone dry enough to contact the rescuers. Full credit to Brian Nalder, Colin Blake and Leo Oliver (The three musketeers)

15.01.2022 Thanks to Brian Nalder for this great photo of the Naiad getting some air, taken during Tuesday training. Wednesday's training managed to halt at 11.00 for 1 minutes perfect silence on a flat calm sea to remember Armitice day. "Lest We Forget"
