12.01.2022 It's the *slight* touch of pink for me. This is a Bargibant's seahorse (Hippocampus bargibanti) - a teeny tiny seahorse. Don't be fooled by how cute they are.... They're known for their insane camouflaging skills. It's so good at camouflaging that it wasn't discovered until its host gorgonian coral was being examined in a laboratory. It's found in coastal areas ranging from southern Japan and Indonesia to northern Australia and New Caledonia. And they live on reefs and slopes about 1040 metres deep. They will spend their entire life on a single gorgonian coral. : nickeverett1981

02.01.2022 "Many land animals will dip beneath the waves to catch and eat fish, but the reverse situation can sometimes occur too, as the titan triggerfish demonstrates. The fish, which can grow to a length of 75 centimetres, will sometimes beach itself to feed on crabs walking along the shoreline. In 2018, on the Red Sea’s Mar Mar Island, Matthew Tietbohl, a coral reef ecologist at King Abdullah University of Science & Technology in Saudi Arabia, was surveying a beach for sea turtle tracks with some colleagues. The team heard loud splashing at the water’s edge. We turned to see this triggerfish launching itself into the shallows and stranding itself, recounts Tietbohl."
