11.01.2022 Some feedback from one customers, thank you Carl. I recently took delivery of a 4.4 mtr Aluvan. Being a new boat on the market mine was the first to be fully spec'd and weighs 450 kg with fuel, so there were a few firsts for the dealer and builder. It is rated to 60 but the Suzi struggled from day 1. It attained a top speed of a decent 50 km hr at wot 6500 rpm but struggled to get on plane. Whilst a unique prop helped get out of the hole the motor then peaked at 5000 rpm, lo...st 15 kmh of top end speed and in short was rather unsuited to this boat. I needed much more torque. Marine care did a beautiful job refitting my boat with a 60 ho etec and from the very first I knew I had made the right decision. It literally leaps out of the hole and cruises effortlessly at 40 kmh no matter how much I load into it. There is so much torque I never have to ride the throttle in rough water and I am getting better fuel results despite the engine having a larger displacement. Whilst the Suzi was quiet at idle it screamed in the upper revs. The etec is the opposite. Not as quiet at idle but much much more quiet under load. Many of my friends own Suzis and have no complaint. They seem to be a good motor but the etecs are in a different ball park all together. A class of there own. There is just no comparison.
