24.01.2022 Australia is nearing its fifth month of travel restrictions and while the majority of Australia is faring well (save Victoria), it begs the question, how long can we keep this up?
22.01.2022 Under the National Cabinets Mandatory Code of Conduct, commercial tenancies (including retail, office and industrial) currently experiencing financial hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic could be eligible for a 6-month hold on evictions. As defined by their eligibility for the Commonwealth Governments JobKeeper programme, and with an annual turnover of up to $50 million, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) could receive tailored, bespoke and appropriate temporary arrangements to best meet their financial needs and concerns. If you are an eligible commercial tenant or landlord seeking assistance during this time, contact us today to book a consultation with one of our experienced lawyers. https://www.marinolaw.com.au/queenslands-new-retail-and-co/
22.01.2022 Marino Law has been monitoring the developments of COVID-19 and at this stage we are operating business as usual. However, we take the health and wellbeing of our staff and clients seriously and have been busy putting processes in place to ensure the ongoing seamless delivery of services and advice to our clients. We will continue to follow advice from the health authorities, and in line with social distancing guidelines are offering remote meetings via phone or video, rather... than face to face. We also have the necessary systems in place for our staff to work from home as and when required to do so. We look forward to supporting the Gold Coast community in line with Federal Government directives during this difficult time.

22.01.2022 We as family lawyers are, at times, faced with situations where there is a significant power imbalance or inequality of bargaining power between the parties to a financial settlement. This is becoming increasingly prevalent with the rise of cases involving family and domestic violence, in most instances resultant from the separation, making it difficult for the parties to engage in effective negotiations. To avoid finding oneself in a position of vulnerability, more and more parties are taking steps to enter into a Binding Financial Agreement (BFA). https://www.marinolaw.com.au/the-importance-of-obtaining-p/
