25.01.2022 Central Goldfields Shire is developing a disability action plan. There is an online survey on the Have your Say section of the Council’s website for people with a disability and their families to complete by 10 September. Or you can ask Council for a hard copy. Please encourage those you know to complete the survey so the best possible services can be provided. Thanks

24.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who participated in this morning’s listening post. Look forward to meeting with people next Monday, 5pm in Rene Fox Garden.

24.01.2022 What a wonderful job Donna Bell and the staff at the Dunolly Hospital are doing in managing during the Covid lockdown, providing excellent care as always to residents and families. The Dunolly Hospital Auxiliary provides support to the hospital through fundraising activities. The Auxiliary has established the Dunolly Housing Group which has been advocating for the establishment of independent housing for community members who wish to remain in their community. The group has ...partnered with Community Housing Ltd who will build and manage the housing once funding is available. Here is the link to video recently made to promote the community's need for this type of housing. https://youtu.be/6Nk44E-by-g Written and authorised Marion Da Costa 16 Havelock St Dunolly 3472

22.01.2022 Lovely to see Central Goldfields looking beautiful with the canola in full flower and the crops looking healthy. Agriculture is a significant industry in the Sh...ire and plays an important role in the local economy. It supports business and employment and accounts for one of the highest employers in the Shire. 17.01.2022 Weekly Q & A Question 3 Could you share what level of community involvement you have had in the local community? During the past years I have been involved in ...many groups in the community and met some wonderful people. Some of my achievements: As secretary of the Dunolly Football Netball Club, worked with the MCDFNL to ensure the Club’s survival and although its winning record is not great, players will tell you, Joining this Club is the best thing I’ve ever done’. Been a member of the Dunolly Hospital Auxiliary steering committee that’s established the housing plan for the hospital grounds. As Chair of the Dunolly Recreation Reserves Committee of Management led the process for a business case and concept design for the new pavilion that will benefit the whole community. Look forward to seeing people next Monday September 28, 5pm at Rene Fox garden. Written and authorised Marion Da Costa 16 Havelock St Dunolly 3472 See more

16.01.2022 What a wonderful time to enjoy the central goldfields. Spring is a pretty time with many of our gardens with beautiful displays for all to enjoy. The Red Cross garden is flowering for the first time.

16.01.2022 If elected I will work with the community to solve the issues that are pertinent to you in your daily life such as improving the response when people raise conc...erns or wish to access services or for example extend the swimming pool season and increase opening times so that it can be used by more members of the community or improve town bike and walking paths. 13.01.2022 Again, it was enjoyable to meet, listen and talk with people last night at the Monday night street food. Last Friday I spent time talking with the wonderful volunteers at the community garden. It’s a lovely space. You can see the veges growing!

12.01.2022 Great news that, as of 12 midnight tonight, the community can, continuing with COVIDSafe behaviours of mask, hand washing and distance, resume some normality. Congratulations to business in Dunolly. They have used their initiative and despite the challenges continued to trade in some format. Cafes and restaurants can open, outdoor fitness groups and students to return to class in term 4. See www. dhhs.vic.gov.au for the full list. We are so fortunate to live here. 11.01.2022 The Maryborough Climate Action Group is encouraging the incoming Council to collaborate with the community to increase understanding about household emissions, ...renewable energy, climate adaptation and energy policy. A renewed focus on climate change is needed within the Shire to minimise the impacts of climate change. Things like tree planting in our towns to provide cool spaces, encouraging the use of green bins and promoting renewable energy. 06.01.2022 Weekly Q&A with Marion Da Costa Here’s the link to join me in this week’s Q & A session set in the beautiful Rene Fox gardens in Dunolly. I had my mask at hand and appropriately social distanced myself throughout the interview. https://youtu.be/Q-N2lRGcJT8 Written and authorised Marion Da Costa 16 Havelock St Dunolly 3472

04.01.2022 Lovely day for the first day of Spring During the past couple of months I have resigned or stood aside from all of the groups that I shave been involved in, to ...ensure that I have, and there be, no perception of a conflict of interest. For me decision making is being impartial and independent, keeping an open mind, ensuring that I listen to all sides of an issue within the community and take all relevant issues into account before coming to a decision. Although each councillor is committed to and represents their own particular community, In the end Council decisions are made to benefit the whole community. 04.01.2022 There are many issues that the new Council will look to address, growing the health, agriculture, service and education sectors in the Shire along with optimising community transport, increasing rail services and supporting business which will enable residents to improve their job skills, increase employment and attract new residents. Knowing the Flynn community, I believe the important issue for the Shire is a Council that embraces change, is responsive and puts the needs o...f residents first where practical issues such as community support, value for rates and maintenance of community infrastructure are valued. A connected community with trust and confidence between Council and the community which is achieved through communication and leadership. Vote 1 Marion Da Costa Committee of Maryborough Candidate Forum is to be held tonight at 7pm for Flynn, Tullaroop and Paddys Ranges Wards. It will be live streamed to Committee for Maryborough (C4M) Facebook. Written and Authorised, Marion Da Costa, 16 Havelock St, Dunolly 3472
