These changes escalated very quickly in a very short period of time. The amazing and prompt response of our fellow South Aussies is what makes our state such a special place to live. It's not yet officially summer but this year, as it was last year, the Australian Red Cross - South Australia has already been as...ked to activate its Telecross REDi heat wave response service. With high temperatures comes increased risks for everyone, particularly our community's most vulnerable. The Telecross REDi service assists vulnerable and isolated people cope with extreme weather events through a daily phone call. People at risk, such as people who live alone, have a disability, are experiencing mental illness, are housebound, frail, aged, recovering from an illness or accident, are encouraged to register, or have someone register them for the service.
