25.01.2022 New Mattress has arrived and is on the bed. Sleep review in a day or two. We kind of liked the old one anyway so we'll take it with us. If new mattresses are your thing, come on down and give it a try.

24.01.2022 On a film shoot for a video on Cockatoo Island. Its fun, but Id rather be at The Lookout filming the birds and waves there!

23.01.2022 Wondering how that table turned out? Pretty well. The fresh tuna caught from Marion Bay certainly tasted beautiful gazing out at the view across beautiful old timber like this. Nothing against the bulk store MDF furniture options, but theres nothing like the warmth of beautiful old timber that you can feel, smell, see and probably even hear as it begins groaning with age! And this one will hopefully outlive us all!

23.01.2022 Get your feet up while the rest go fishing, bush-walking, swimming, surfing, bike riding, snorkeling, photographing, shell collecting, exploring the national park next door, wandering along this amazing coastline . . .

23.01.2022 Typical sunrise at The Lookout. Its great to stand in your nightclothes with your first cup of coffee for the day steaming in your hand and watch the sun itself gradually struggle out of bed. The only things moving are you and the sun, up close and intimate. You know as you say goodnight to that same sun, some twelve hours later, that you will be meeting like this on the other side of the night.

22.01.2022 Plumber came yesterday to install beautiful new pump. Its so quiet that you cannot hear it most of the time when you are inside, compared to the last one that would wake the neighbourhood if you had a drink of water during the night. Unfortunately, we lost all our water at the start of summer at the same time the pump got so noisy. Some piping got damaged. So we now have to pay for water to be delivered by tanker. Really hoping for some rain soon to get things back to normal here. None for months!

21.01.2022 Hi, The Lookout is booking out fast over the Christmas holidays. I guess most places are, but it would be a pity to miss out. Some lucky family will be enjoying Christmas Day around our new large table that I made out of recycled Baltic Pine, as they stare out at that beautiful stretch of water with Kangaroo Island floating in the distance.

08.01.2022 Its not only the ocean side that has great views at The Lookout. Late in the day theres nothing more relaxing than sipping on a cool drink as the sun colours up the sky over Lake Snow. Its a real fireworks display from Mother Nature.

06.01.2022 Sometimes the best thing you can do is take a refreshing dip in the ocean. These waves were rolling in at Gym Beach, just a few minutes drive from The Lookout. The great thing about being on the bottom of Yorke Peninsula is that it is not far to go to a beach that is facing the perfect direction for the conditions, wind, waves, tides and so on.

05.01.2022 Thought you might like to see our first review on Airbnb. Kaitlyn March 2019... Very happy with our stay in this lovely home. Beautiful views, amazing house and had everything we needed for our stay. Walking distance to Innes national park and we could see emus, kangaroos and beautiful sunsets / sunrises from the balcony. A special thanks to Brett for personally dropping off something we left in the house to us in Adelaide! This was very nice of him. Amazing hospitality. Thanks again, we will definitely be returning to the peninsula. Thank you, Kaitlyn

01.01.2022 Sometimes Mother Nature just puts on an amazing show. Here she is with a sunset seen from our upstairs deck which goes all the way around the house. Somehow the evening drinks just taste so much better when there is something beautiful to look at. Sure beats the TV!
