23.01.2022 Jac and Paul travelled from England to Montville to be married by Kari in the beautiful gardens of the the charming country venue" The Spotted Chook" . The venue provides an artful feast of country style delights . Hosted by Jane and Leeroy it is a delightful relaxing place to stay a while in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

23.01.2022 This morning I received a lovely surprise message from Jodi which really made my day. Jodi was a client on the 25th of September 2009 . She wrote " Good morning Marion It is Jason & my 10yr wedding anniversary today. We were thinking how amazing you were & how beautiful our photos of the day are. Thank you so very much for making our day so special. We hope you and your family are well and still loving life on the Sunshine Coast. Heres a photo of our family now. x Jod...i " I feel so blessed to have been part of the best day of Jodi and Jason's life- to have created memories for them to last a life time, to bring back the joy of their happiest moments...and to be remembered for that 10 years later and thanked makes my life complete. What an amazing celebration of love Jeda and Murray's wedding was - Scottish kilts ,bagpipes, flamenco dancers, with a Boho eclectic world mix with tastes of Scotland , India , Iran , Spain and Australia... All guests were invited to dress colourfully and wear crazy hats. This lovely couple lost everything when their house went under in the 2011 Brisbane floods, but their wedding day on the Sunshine Coast soon afterwards was a day of pure joy and celebration.I...'ve known Jeda since she used to play wedding dressups with my daughter Marayke Caroline Jonkers as a little girl, so it was a thrill to be invited to her wedding . Nothing could dampen their spirits on this special day at Avatar's Abode, on top of Kiel Mountain. .Family and friends rallied with support - they sewed , cooked , created ,performed and played music.I was able to contribute with wedding photos as my gift . It truly was one of the most heartfelt weddings I have ever been part of A cabaret tribute at their reception featuring extraordinary talent from their multi talented guests. A banquet lovingly prepared by friends at Glasshouse Community hall. So wonderful to see the community come together, with everyone contributing to make Jeda and Murray's wedding day so memorable .

16.01.2022 Bindi's wedding is such a spark of joy in these challenged times. So glad Bindi and Chandler got to have their special day just before covid restrictions came into full force in Australia. What a beautiful wedding with such meaningful sentiments in a simple ceremony with Bindi's close family. I had the pleasure of meeting Steve and Terri when my daughter Marayke and Steve were both Qld nominees for Australian of the year awards in different categories at a function at the Q...ld Art Gallery. I've taken my children to visit the zoo in Beerwah in the 80's when it was just a fledgling local animal park with kangaroos koalas and camels and watched Australia zoo grow into the worldclass conservation based zoo it is today. When Steve tragically passed away in 2016 I wanted to pay tribute to him and lined up for 12 hours overnight in the Sunshine Plaza carpark in the queue for 2 of the limited number of tickets available from tiketek to attend his memorial service at Australia zoo. Marayke and I will never forget this wonderful life celebration with all the zoo animals joining in. An interesting connection between Australia Zoo and my photography career. In the early 2000's I used to visit Australia zoo at least weekly to have photos processed at their lab, which had a quality fuji printer, and as a professional photographer that meant free admission to stroll past the crocs and other animals to reach the photo lab. My mothers Day flowers delivered this year were from the florist who did Bindi's wedding flowers so I'm delighted to see her wedding video , I even cried when I watched it. Enjoy.

15.01.2022 Happy Wedding Anniversary to Deborah Richards and Richard. I loved this wedding at Magical Malindi in Montville with Bill Scurry , hands down the best male celebrant on the Sunny Coast. There may have been a mini cyclone ( Marcia) with torrential downpour forcing the ceremony indoors ( how spectacular is this house- it's like a cathedral inside!) but I returned the next day when the rain eased off for a reshoot to capture location photographs for Deb and Richard in this glorious hinterland setting. 11.01.2022 "Ditching all the bells and whistles" ...smaller scale simpler weddings are growing in popularity as a reaction to large scale event planning which can be more stressful and costly. There was a reaction a couple of years back with the upsurge in " Pop up Weddings" which took simplification to the opposite extreme. A happy median seems to be a smaller yet personalised wedding where professional services are used tailoring the occasion to suit the couple's style and wishes . A small wedding with " heart and soul" is what Kari-Marriage Celebrant Sunshine Coast refers to in this video clip . I love working with couples to tailor wedding packages including photography to suit their wishes.

10.01.2022 Jess and Simon's wedding day was certainly memorable for me with the adenalin rush of a magnificent eagle flying right at me for the group photo ( Soren belongs to Paul Mander from the Gold Coast) . Such a fun photoshoot in downtown Nambour- I look for great photo opportunities wherever I go. The eagle mural in Petrie Park and the old wooden bridge which are both no longer there. The nearby field where the sunset photo was shot is up for sale for subdivision.The wedding venue has closed down. So even my wedding photos become part of local history in the rapidly changing landscape of the Sunshine Coast of QLD. 02.01.2022 I have been really missing weddings and feel so much for all the couples whose weddings have been postphoned.
