25.01.2022 I tell myself not to get caught in politics but I found this video from 13 April 2018. It fits in with the narrative of all the riots in U.S.A. It is almost a prophesy. White Rage: The Unspoken Truth of Our Nation's Divide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBYUET24K1c

24.01.2022 FINALLY, I have nearly finished the book about Classical Gymnastic Exercises for Horses. A "book" with a series of diagrams of the suppling & strengthing exercises and useful techniques we have used in CHI Clinics and here at Yardah Stud but I would like HELP! It is exciting that current technology allows us to communicate ideas amazingly but I need some translations to code the diagrams. The way I have illustrated the diagrams allow people who do not understand English e...asily, will still be able to understand the diagrams. Students have translated the German/Austria Version, France, Denmark, Italy, Sweden translations. There are about 200 core words that I need to make the diagrams useful for Non-English speakers. If you can assist this project it would be great. You might have a friend who would like to be involved. It will take approximately 1.5 hours do cover most terms. Belguim, Czek, Holland, Spain, Portugal, any language. The challenge is that whoever does the translation needs to have an equestrian background. Words like "Extended Trot" and "Collected Trot" does not translate well with Machine translation i.e. Google. Please let me know in the comments if you would like to be part of this project and can help in any way. In the first instance this will be on-line followed up with a printed book. Anyone who helps in this project will get a FREE copy of this project as a THANK YOU for assisting. I hope this will be useful for you personally and any of your students. Stay safe. with love, Marji

24.01.2022 Dear All, After what seems like an eternity, I hope we will soon be in a position to import a tank of semen from Yardah Hermes. Hermes is a stunning grey stallion belonging to Yardah Stud and Marji Armstrong. For those of you who don’t know the full details, Yardah Hermes is a fabulous mix of Andalusian and Thoroughbred blood carefully line bred from Dulcero, the founder stallion. Most of you know Ximenez who competed in Europe before coming to the uk where we all fell in lov...e with him. A very special horse with the temperament, trainability and talent to wow a 9 year old child up to an accomplished competition rider. The breeding program has been the brain child of Marji and has culminated, following a series of breeding analysis and decisions, in producing a modern day sports horse and specifically a pure breed Spanish Warmblood. The resulting horses are phenomenal combining temperament, trainability, bone, conformation and stunning good looks. These horses have the heart of a lion and the desire to please. They are exceptionally talented in dressage, showjumping and eventing and are suitable for a rider at any level or time in their training. For those of you still interested in more information in relation to straws of sperm from Hermes, I will be co-ordinating the tank being filled and brought to Europe/UK as a consolidation of clients. If you can make a comment below that you are interested in knowing more I will message you back and chat to you answering any questions you have. All the people who make a comment below, Marji will offer you a voucher of 20% discount on the breeding cost. She is very keen to promote the breed and feels that the people who support it at the beginning deserve a reward. At this stage, as I am unable to be specific about the timeframe, I am looking for expressions of interest. I will do my level best to push this forward at the earliest opportunity and will keep you up to date with things, as soon as possible. Please let me know by making a comment below. Kind regards Yvonne Uprichard https://www.youtube.com/watch XMA Header Image Hermes genetics youtube.com

23.01.2022 It amazes me when people have the strength of character to stand up to bullies even in these tough times. Good people are good people. Caring knowledgeable horse masters cannot have that truth taken away. It’s inspiring to see testimonials from around the globe standing up for what is right.

22.01.2022 We see many so-called Dressage trainers who have limited knowledge and experience but have very good marketing. NOW, here is your opportunity to see some genuine, authentic horse masters with amazing knowledge and experience. A Magical Night of Horses is a great title for which I am sure will be well named.... I have watched the Valença performances in Vienna, Austria; Golega and their home campus at Centro Equestre de Leziria Grande, Vila Franca de Xira, Portugal. It has always been inspiring to watch true artists. Mestre Luis Valenca has been so generous to me and thousands of others with his wisdom and knowledge. Like any artist we have our own spin to the art depending on our own experience, however we are moulded to some degree by a master. Top marks to the next generation of the Valença family who are dedicated to continue the work of their father. I have just purchased my ticket and I look forward to watching it. Make sure you do not miss out on this opportunity. Put 25 July on your calendar. https://www.valencaequestrianacademy.com/a-magical-night-/

22.01.2022 This is a very good post from Cheri Craig in Langley (nr Vancouver) Canada. Really worth thinking about.

20.01.2022 A well educated horse!

20.01.2022 This video is from 2018 but it reminded me of this amazing day in 1999. After teaching a clinic in the South Tirol, we were invited to ride with the Press so we were really part of it. Can someone pass this to Keith Churchill, Canberra. He was with us at the time. Amin Mayr is not just a great photographer he is also an amazing horseman. I was very privileged that he attended the clinics, I knew his as Indio. Godele Von Der Decken had travelled to Linz in Austria to attend one of my clinics and afterwards she arranged for me to teach in the South Tirol. I am so grateful to her for giving me the experience both with the horsemen/women at the clinics and being part of this experience. Cheers to everyone in South Tirol.

19.01.2022 And here is a fun competition for Christmas. It amazes me the creative of people who producde these things

18.01.2022 UPDATE: Not much rain, but we have had some cool days. Getting hot again and currently not much wind. Not sure what the current news but here is a current article. We are being told that the fire was caused by lightning, but no-one seems to mention that there had been a controlled fire in the Stirling Ranges a couple of weeks ago?????? Just one smouldering log would have been enough??? "University Experts" with no real lifetime knowledge??? It would be good if it is investigated. At the time I thought it was stupid to do a "controlled fire" in the middle of summer leading up to the hottest day in Australia's history. Anyway, rant finished it might have been lightning. https://www.abc.net.au//stirling-mega-blaze-volun/11842422

15.01.2022 So the FEI insists of protective helmets in Dressage and yet allows Crank Nosebands on the horses??? http://www.eurodressage.com//fei-adopts-protective-headgea

14.01.2022 Hi, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and getting ready for 2021. Hopefully it will be a bit different to 2020. Yesterday, I walked about 3 kms and today I am a bit muscle sore. I decided to do for myself what I would do for my horse. I have given myself a day off - no fencing, no pipes (I hope) and no horse work and definately no house work. (well I do not need any excuses for not doing house work) As a result I have been sitting at the computer and found this TED t...alk and thought I might find it useful but the title really doesn't express the content. The example of the tomato sauce cup will stay with me. All I could think of all the people I have met who opened up their tomato sauce cup. Watch it and see if you have opened up your tomato sauce cup. Much love, Marji https://www.youtube.com/watch If this inspired you, share this to someone else.

14.01.2022 BYO has a new meaning. Once it meant take Grog - now it is take some Dunny paper. When I was supposed to go to UK to teach in April, I had intended to take rolls of Toilet paper as gifts for the students. Then I discovered how serious the virus is and I couldn't go. Take care everyone. But have a laugh whenever you can.

13.01.2022 I have been thinking about this virus. If we only get it from touching our face or breathing in the virus why can't we wear something like the gas masks that everyone wore in World War II. That would stop us from touching our face and we wouldn't breath the virus. Am I crazy? Sitting on the farm alone with the animals I think a lot. That would let kids back to school and life could continue??? Any feedback? Love to everyone it is a horrible thing but it has been happening over the eons. As we are in isolation I can only give you an on-line hug xxxx Marji

12.01.2022 Something so many people don't realise is that teabags are made of plastic. I talk about it a lot, but people are skeptical ;) Well... here is video evidence! T...his BBC 2 clip shows plastic being added to teabags being manufactured in a factory. Plus who knew it was such a resource-intensive process?! All that water :/ This is why I think we need a loose leaf revolution! Share with a tea-from-a-teabag drinker that you know and see what they think! See more

12.01.2022 I was looking for a quote from "Lonesome Dove" about "The older the violin, the sweeter the music." Just having a little moment about age. Anyway, I found this video extract from the movie. It really resonated for me. I just wish I had that moment when the RSPCA stole my stallion. Anyway. Enjoy this 4 min little video. I will fight to the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch My father had a saying "All bullies are cowards!"

11.01.2022 Sadly yesternday my pal, Hot Shot, decided it was his time to cash in his chips. I was so sad to say goodbye to "Hottie" but I was glad he was able to pick his own time with dignity after 24 years. Here is a little video I made of him a few years ago. It is good that his amazing genetics have continued in his descendants. Those of you who have visited Yardah will remember him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZY860LZ_68 .

10.01.2022 Found this and immediately thought of the Wellington/Reading clinic girls- but I didn't--- though I considered it.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgM4VdZMA5E

09.01.2022 just found this. as I missed sending Xmas greetings thought I would share this. Hope you had a lovely day. https://www.facebook.com/StepNDance.SalsaborTropical/videos/464847854223302/

07.01.2022 Happy New 2021. I hope that everyone are getting closer to their goals. I saw this article using Laser to improve healing in tendon and I thought it was worth sharing with you. Until now, it has seemed to me that using a TENS machine helped most. It would be great if someone compared the two modalities. Having this happen has always been heartbreaking for people so all research is a great thing. https://thehorse.com//class-4-laser-improves-equine-susp/

07.01.2022 I thought this is worth sharing. It all seems logical.

07.01.2022 I enjoyed this. So true and from the heart. We are lucky to have the option to make our point to the public. Fifty years ago we had to write a letter to the newspaper.

05.01.2022 I found this video. I loved it but it also made me think about changing my career in 1992 and teach classical training and follow my heart, instead of following the "normal" pursuits. My initial thought was that Prince Harry is like the bunny and then I recognised I also made a big shift at 49 years. Enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSkbcI9F5ec

05.01.2022 Here is a photo and article showing the lack of consistency in the F.E.I. We can see that the groom was not wearing any protective headgear although an accident on the ground with a horse is more likely to happen than a rider in advanced Dressage. The grooms' footware is amazing. At Rio the Swedish team horses were trotted out by grooms in frilly dresses. I wonder if there are any statistics of riding accidents during advance Dressage competition. I can see the sense in wanting to give an example of why people should wear protective headgear at all times with horses, but it is directed wrongly. I wear a helmet all the time on the farm, but occasionally I have worn different headgear in special circumstances. https://www.horseandhound.co.uk//british-groom-suffers-hea

03.01.2022 Yesterday Sophia LePlastrier became Sophia Palmer. Many of you have met Sophia both here at Yardah Competitions Reading Portugal & Paris so I thought you may like to see their wedding but also the way they dealt with their challenges. Their wedding was planned for April but due to the pandemic it became impossible. Amazingly Charlie & Sophia pulled together a wedding celebration in 2 days and it was Live. It was wonderful to be with them live in the moment. It was a different experience but those of us who were scattered around the world but we still felt part of the celebration even from Denmark. https://www.facebook.com//92321/permalink/923938791354303/

02.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who has been sending me greetings. The fire/s are in the Stirling Ranges about 20km away. It is scary as it is rough country at not easy to access for the firefighters. I am okay unless there is a raging Easterly wind and there are others who are closer. Hopefully we get a bit of rain today, which will mess up our dry pasture (which has nutrients until it rains) but at the moment rain is a better option if it slows or stops the fires. Most of the fire fighters are volunteers. Whether they are volunteers or professional, they are heroes and every summer I am grateful.. I often remember the poem by Dorethea Mackellar which I grew up with. I will link it in another post.

01.01.2022 Gymnastic Exercises! Definately achievable.

01.01.2022 Hi People, If you are like me and have been exploring the on-line area, I have found this very useful and with some good products. The fact that most are LifeTime deals takes away a lot of stress. AppSumo has a promotion which is offering a $10 deduction for the first purchase which for most of the deals is a 20 percent discount. But for me is the fact that there is a guaranteed refund within the 60 days of purchase. And the guarantee is actually genuine. Have a look. Cheers, Marji Armstrong
