25.01.2022 UPDATE Based on the advice of the Chief Health Officer and the Police Commissioner we are now in a position to further ease the recent restrictions. From 12:01AM this Saturday 8 May - restrictions will be eased significantly - based on the most up-to-date health advice. Masks will only be required on public transport, at events with more than one thousand people, and at hospitals and disability and aged care facilities. People at events with a capacity of over 1000 WILL... be required to wear masks. This includes events at stadiums. People will be able to have up to 100 people their homes, up from 30. Nightclubs and casinos will reopen subject to the 2 square metre rule. Major stadiums will be able to reopen to spectators, but will be limited to 75% capacity with masks compulsory for spectators. All other venues had already returned to their pre-lockdown capacity. Patrons will be permitted to order and consume food and drinks while standing. Visitors to hospitals, aged care facilities and disability centres will be increased to a limit of 4 visitors per patient per day but masks are mandatory for all staff and visitors.
