11.01.2022 A day in the life: When I was 15 I left home to work as an assistant photographer in a studio in London’s Soho. One day I was asked t pack the cameras as we were going to photograph a rock band. I’d heard of the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, but Black Sabbath? There was a limit to what my dad would let us play on the radiogram and even the Stones crossed the line. We took a cab to the cemetery and waited for the boys. They were late ‘cause rock bands work at night n sleep during the day, right?. I found this original print in my life’s archives as well as a few other gems. 07.01.2022 So imagine this, you are driving through the desert (not the sandy Sahara) it’s 48 degrees, the road ahead stretch’s as far as the eye can see, the heat haze acts as a mirror on the road surface and the oncoming truck looks like a ghost shimmering. Eventually, on exiting a slight curve in the road, there in the distance, would you believe is a lone white horse. I’m gobsmacked (thankyou Paul Keating) roaming free of any rider. Without the luxury of hair n make-up artist, lighting, props, wardrobe or any other crew member that helps to create a shot, Jen and I set to work as best we can. Oh the flies.
