15.01.2022 Just doing some housekeeping, folks. Tidying up this page and plan on posting and connecting on it a bit more than I have been. Carry on.

14.01.2022 How is this for a feel-good story? This is what watching out for each other looks like. For those who don't know, the background story is that in 1845-50 Ireland went through a devastating famine (only one crop failed, but that is another story) where over 1 million died and over 1 million emigrated. The population there has never recovered to pre-famine levels. At the time, the native American Choctaw nation, although suffering greatly themselves with starvation and disposse...ssion, found it in themselves to send much-needed funds to Ireland to ease the suffering there. When they had almost nothing themselves. The Irish people have never forgotten this act of huge generosity. Today the Navajo nation is suffering great loss with one of the highest rates of COVID infection per capita in the US. 40% of people do not have access to running water and 10% do not have electricity. A GoFundMe campaign has raised nearly $2m, thanks in large part to an outpouring of Irish donations. From an Irish brother to our native American brothers writes one donor. And Irish Prime Minister, Leo Varadkar, said your act of kindness has never been, and never will be, forgotten in Ireland. In fact, there is a wonderful monument in Midleton, Co Cork, celebrating the deep connection and gratitude felt. I try to visit it whenever I am back there. I felt it was time for a nice story!
