25.01.2022 An Interview with Delfina Sport after cleaning up today with the Invictus Games: Team Australia Swim Team

25.01.2022 My Recent Interview with Yahoo News on the effects of Road Trauma

25.01.2022 Ive realised that I've been pretty quiet this year but theres a good reason for it. I had a phone call in December asking if I was interested in getting involved in ParaCanoe and by mid January I had been loaned a boat and started trying to figure out how to stay in my boat. After 6 weeks of 4am starts, long training sessions and alot of hard work and im as ready as Im going to be to compete at the Australian National Sprint Championships next week.... Im fighting for a spot on the Australian Paracanoe team so hopefully I can pull off a run thats fast enough!

25.01.2022 For four years Ive longed for the freedom and feeling of being on two wheels again. Today I made that first step towards riding by replacing my bike with this beautiful beast. Once my leg is healed (its barely on for the photo) my bike is modified and protective riding gear is replaced...ill be back riding again I understand that this might be a controversial decision and I hope this doesnt make anyone upset or cause any pain especially to those that were with me through the... worst part of my journey. I dont have a deathwish but I no longer fear death. I know Im risking alot but I want to live my life with no regrets and enjoy the things that I love!

22.01.2022 So everything has finally wrapped up for the year, its been a year full of amazing accomplishments, new friends and alot of support from this community of amazing humans. To everyone thats supported me this year thank you! I hope you all have a great Christmas and New Years! Heres how ive been spending the last few days of 2018! Pushing boundaries and having fun as always!... See you in 2019! https://www.instagram.com/p/Bruh4ayhsX4/

21.01.2022 I am Undefeated.

21.01.2022 3 years ago I was lying dead on the side of the road...today I won Bronze for Australia in the 4 Minute IR4 Rowing. I lost Silver by 4 metres in the final 5 seconds but I couldnt be more proud to lose to the two guys beside me! Congratulations to everyone on the Team Australia we cleaned up today!... Thank you to everyone thats supported me over the last 3 years! This one was for you guys!

21.01.2022 This morning I finished my 5th 12km @hbfrun for a reason. I actually considered pulling out of the run this week. Im waiting on Surgery on my stump to remove a neuroma thats causing alot of pain and swelling. Then I reflected on my situation, Im lucky enough to still have the ability to run, amazing technology in my running prosthetic and the love and support of so many people.... Theres millions of people in this world that dont have the ability to do what I do. So pain is no excuse not to run! It was definitely my most painful run, there was anger, tears along the way but it was nothing compared to feeling of crossing the finish line again. Thanks to all the volunteers, @cayleyjones for running by my side, @asicsaustralia for the never ending support and @hbfrun for another amazing event! See you all next year!

21.01.2022 Australia vs France Invictus Wheelchair Rugby, Mark's playing, watch live here now!

20.01.2022 It was a big week of speeches last week. I spoke about Mental Mealth and Disability with the Students at Mater Dei College I also had chance to share my Road Trauma Story for The World Day of Remember on Sunday and also at the Gosnells Council Event on Friday... *Photos credit of City of Gosnells, Mater Dei College and RTSWA*

20.01.2022 I am Honoured to announce that I have been selected as one of 32 athletes who make up the Australian Invictus Games Team. Its been a rough year with plenty of set back so I am extremely grateful to Veteran Sport Australia and the ADF for another opportunity to don the Green and Gold. Ill be heading over to The Hague on the 6th of May to compete in Wheelchair Rugby, Indoor Rowing, Sitting Volleyball, Cycling and Swimming.

18.01.2022 Well that obviously wasnt the way I planned my run to go! I had high expectations of myself after last year. Ive been dreading my run going to air after bombing out so early I felt like I had failed. However Ive been drowned in love and support which has completely changed my perspective. In order to do what I do and push my broken body as hard as I do, theres going to be times when something fails and thats okay. Its all part of my journey.... Having Max there and showing Australia what is achievable despite having a disability means so much more than winning. Thank you to all my friends, family and fans for never giving up on me. Now I need to decide if I bow out like this or come back for redemption!

17.01.2022 Australia vs France currently streaming from Invictus!

17.01.2022 The Australian Adaptive Obstacle Course Racers (AAOCR) made an appearance in Bright for Spartan Race Australia on Sunday. We had Amputee Gary, CP Athlete Kieran and myself tackling the sprint on Sunday as adaptive athletes with Owen, Marshal and Mel as support. AAOCR Member Andrew Falconer had a massive weekend with the Hurricane Heat on friday night, Sprint on Saturday, pulled out of the sunday sprint due to injury but volunteered all day to make up for it!... The Americans just had their first Para Spartan event over the weekend and I would love to see the Australian Adaptive OCR grow to this size. If you know someone who should get involved tag them below! We have members all over Australia with a range of different disabilities. This wouldnt be possible without the amazing support of New Gen Rotary Club, Spartan Race Australia and Obstacle Racers Australia.

16.01.2022 Today marks my last day serving in the Royal Australian Navy. Uniforms are handed back, the paperwork has been signed and the goodbyes have been said. But the memories from the last seven and a half years will remain forever. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve my country. Ive made friends all over the world from this job, ive had opportunities that people can only dream of...including competing in just about every sport invented.... To everyone that has been apart of my Journey, supported me in the tough times and served side by side with me...Thank you. Although I depart with some sadness in my heart that I didnt quite achieve my potential in the Navy, I look forward to the new challenges that Civilian life holds. I wish everyone a safe and Happy Christmas period.

16.01.2022 Another set back means another opportunity for a comeback! Turns out my sciatic nerve was pinched between my two fractures in my femur, causing alot of pain and swelling. Ive got another huge scar up the back of my leg, the bad part of my nerves have been cut out and its been relocated much higher up.... Hopefully the pain will start to settle in a few days!

15.01.2022 It has been an honour to once again don the Green and Gold and represent Australia at the 2019 Warrior Games. Thank you to everyone supporting at home, all my teammates for keeping me going and the ADF for the opportunity. Sitting Volleyball: Medically withdrawn with a Shoulder Injury... Indoor Rowing: 1 Minute - Bronze 4 Minute - Bronze Wheelchair Rugby - Bronze Cycling Time Trial - Gold Swimming: 50m Freestyle - Silver 50m Backstroke - Silver 50m Breaststroke - Silver 100m Freestyle - Gold 4 x 50m Mens Relay - Gold As good as it is to bring home a bit of bling, the friends and memories from this trip will last a lifetime. Now time to begin the training for Invictus 2020!

14.01.2022 Looking back at 2018 and Ive achieved a hell of alot, heres a few of my favourite moments from the year. 1. Competing in triathlons all over Australia 2. Competing in The Invictus Games 3. Australian Ninja Warrior 8. Winning Gold with the Wheeling Diggers 9. Finishing the 24 Hour OCR World Championships Enduro I dont really believe that everything will change tomorrow because its a new year...but I know that 2019 has alot of change install for me. 13.01.2022 After seven and a half years. My Navy Career has come to an end. Today I was given my Medical Review Board determination informing me that I am now J51. I will be seeing out of the end of 2019 in the Navy and then moving onto new adventures in 2020.... Ive got mixed feelings about this. This wasnt the way I imagined my career going when I enlisted in 2012, its been a rollercoaster of ups and downs especially over the last few years but I am extremely grateful for the amount of unique opportunities that the Navy has allowed me...from deploying to North East Asia, trying every adaptive sport under the sun and thencompeting on the International Stage Thank you to every one that has supported me, guided me and befriended me over my career. I would not be who I am today without all the people who have influenced me over the years. It truly has been my privilege and honour to serve our great country that we are lucky enough to call home! Now to look forward to the future and the endless possibilities that await!

13.01.2022 After making the Semi Finals in 2018. I am delighted to announce that this year I have been selected as one of the four finalists in the Seven News Young Achiever Awards WA with the winner being announced in May

12.01.2022 Its no secret that Ive been trying to balance alot lately. Between training for 4 Invictus sports, travelling all over Australia for training camps, training for Noosa Triathlon in two months and training to change over to become a Navy PTI...its safe to say Ive been exhausted physically and mentally. Thanks to the amazing team at The Life Spring Float for offering my a unique experience in their float tank. I was able to disconnect from the world, relax and meditate and refo...cus on my goals. I would definitely recommend you try this at least once in your life...I feel like a new person! Now lets get that Gold!!!

08.01.2022 For anyone that missed tonights documentary, I suggest investing an hour of your time to witness a real story. A story of a team who have been through hell and back again and come out the other side striving for Gold. We are the Wheeling Diggers, we may be broken but we are unconquered!

04.01.2022 Survived another session on the table being chopped up last night. I wont know how successful it was until I speak to my surgeon today. Ive gotten so used to these surgeries that im pretty desensitized from the whole process but it was so much nicer having @cayleyjones by my side when I woke up. Thank you for being the best girlfriend in the world, putting up with my hangriness while fasting, eating and drinking coffee infront of me all day and then hand feeding me a burger l...ast night because I was too out of it to use my hands Thanks for all the messages of love and support from everyone! You guys make my heart so full!

03.01.2022 Thats a wrap on my first @paddle_australia Sprint Canoeing National Championships. 3 months ago this was just a unachievable goal but with the help of alot of people from the Australian Paddling community we turned that dream into a reality. 6 weeks ago I had a goal to drop 16 seconds off my time to go sub 50 seconds in my 200m sprint. I managed to drop 3 seconds overnight between the heats and finals finishing with a 48.92 and taking home the Bronze Medal in my classificatio...n. Today I backed it up with a Silver in the 500m Race. None of this would of been achievable without the help of the community from Champion Lakes and @paddle_wa The endless technical advice from @jessedeanphillips and @curtmcgrath My training partner Tait for getting up at 4am every day to train with me before work. And finally the companies that support me in being the best I can be! @asicsaustralia and @the_muscle_merchant

02.01.2022 Five Years ago I experienced what it was like to lose everything because of someone elses actions. Laying on the side of road bleeding out really gives you a new appreciation of life. The last five years have been a rollercoaster and a half, Ive spent so long trying to figure out why this happened to me. This year has been a huge change in direction...being proactive with my mental health, focusing on my physical wellbeing instead of breaking myself. ... Ive rebuilt myself piece by piece and ive finally figured out I have everything I need. Ive got a great family, a beautiful girlfriend, supportive friends as well as figuring out a new purpose for myself. Today I graduated as a PT with @fitcollegeperth! So Inbetween all my training with my WAIS squad ill be specializing in adaptive strength and conditioning helping other people with physical disabilities to rebuild themselves using my own journey. I never imagined my life to be like this 5 years ago but I guess im finally okay with where I am in life!
