24.01.2022 Would you believe it, one of our local sports Southern Vales Archery Club was featured in the new comedy series of Patriot Brains in New Zealand. They answered several questions such as "What are the grapes for?" "Is it a type of Hunger Games?" and which sport can you drink and participate in? Of course, you don't have to be a middle aged woman to take up the sport of archery and Southern Vales Archery Club has come'n'tries, training courses and membership for all genders and... ages. 23.01.2022 Did you shoot a bow at school or at a camp. A recommendations that come out from a new inquiry into bow and crossbow hunting could have serious effect on target archery (the sport that doesn't kill smoothing other than a paper target). Submissions are now open to tell the government the good aspects of the sport. And as a world champion crossbow short and president of an archery club, I will definitely be putting in a written submission detailing the good effects of archery as a sport.

18.01.2022 I had great fun filming this, the young people in this shoot were so positive all day. And even after torrential rain, swarming flying ants, strong winds and blazing sun, they all shot through without a peep about the conditions. Well done everyone! #shortstory #archery

18.01.2022 When I ran for the Mid Coast Ward elections in Onkaparinga Council, I spoke to hundreds of people. So many were concerned about our environment and in particular about the waste issue at that time (China not accepting recycling). This project got 100% support from the people I met, so it's great to see it getting into its final stages. Well done, Erin Thompson - Mayor, City of Onkaparinga

17.01.2022 My Grandad fought in World War II, and ANZAC day is when my thoughts and prayers are influenced by my Grandads stories of war. Whether he was recounting the day when he dispatched a German hedgehog for disturbing his guard duty, or his adventures with driving around the top brass, he would make the most miserable person smile. Of course, war is far from being all fun and games, but he did have a unique ability to find the good in anything he did. The story that I remember the... most, is his account of the medal that he never received. At the end of the war, people that had served in the armed forces could apply for the British War Medal. But according to my Grandad, medals earned should be given without application. More importantly though, he believed that a medal just for service personnel did not recognised the huge number of sacrifices that people made at home. Men, women, children, soldiers, navy, pilots, miners, butchers, farmers and bakers all contributed to the war effort and many paid the ultimate sacrifices for their country. All suffered loss and hardship, and to my Grandad, the medal should have been given to every Brittan, to recognise their contribution. I have a reoccurring prayer every year when ANZAC day comes around, and it is a reflection of the strength and integrity that was demonstrated by my Grandad. My prayer is that all of the politicians and people in leadership that attend the dawn services to commemorate those that made the ultimate sacrifice in war, continue that commitment all year round. As with many veterans, a week never passed without my Grandad referring to or telling stories about the war. War affects everyone involved with it, at home and abroad. My hope is that leaders take the tougher road to peace than the path to war. I look forward to the time where unity is the goal rather than self-fulfilling division. ANZAC day is the one day of the year where leaders and politicians come together to commemorate the ultimate sacrifices given by the armed forces, and quite right too. Because if my Grandad taught me anything about war, that is war effects everyone that is involved, every day of the year. What better way to celebrate our fallen, by spending time, effort and money on ensuring that we add no more to the list for next year. #neverforget #Remember #Australia #southaustralia #lestweforget #ANZAC #anzacday

10.01.2022 I had a great day at this competition in the Barossa. Even better to walk away with these records.
