25.01.2022 Fine tuning (or confirming) your brands’ positioning is vital right now. If you’re not doing these four steps, you’re losing ground. But first, some background...... Over the last 6 months the TMP team have been doing a lot of thinking, brainstorming and workshopping around brand positioning - both for ourselves and our clients. For the most part, we haven’t been reimagining these brands, but just ‘checking in’ with them to determine: If the communication/marketing during the pandemic is still in line with values and brand position, Whether they need to revisit how their brand is positioned If it can be tweaked to be more relevant without moving away from their core values and who they are as a business and brand Who in the business is responsible for maintaining consistent, on-brand comms during this disruption. Follow these four steps to give your own brand a quick ‘tune-up’ and make sure your positioning remains on point (even when everything else is up in the air). #Branding #Positioning #B2Bbranding

23.01.2022 Every business owner in Australia has had to take a good look at how they do things. Whether it’s from a growth perspective - How are we going to manage all of this work? (If you’re lucky)... Or more likely from the other end, forced to review, optimise or change the workings of their business to cut some costs and try to ride the storm.... In scenario #2, it’s the marketing department that’s most likely to see the knife first. But at TMP, we think that’s completely the wrong way around. It’s so important you keep your brand in people’s minds right now. Even if restricted budgets mean you have to DIY. Here are three quick rules: Make sure you've got a plan to follow - get a template and create it yourself if you have to. (I’ll leave a link to our new marketing plan template in the comments.) Have systems in place and processes to follow - don't just throw content up online and hope it works. Make sure you've allocated resources and maximised the ones you have. Draw a table with three columns: one for budget (what can you realistically spend), the second for people and their hours (including you) and fill the third with ways you can squeeze more value out of both. This might be a skeleton operation - that’s totally fine. But be realistic and you’ll see more results than if you shoot too high. Even if your budgets have been slashed, save a little time and energy for your marketing (and use our tips) and you’ll be glad you did down the track. For more on marketing with a reduced budget, Read the four things we think you should be doing right now from a marketing perspective. #digitalmarketing #b2bmarketing #marketingbudgets #pivoting

14.01.2022 Are you being TOO professional on social media? That might seem like a funny question... But some B2B businesses we see out there forget that even though we’re marketing business to business, you’re still trying to reach a real human on the other side. ... 14.01.2022 Would you rely on ONE supplier for your entire business model? We’re guessing probably not But many growing businesses (and even huge corporations) are doing just that - concentrating on Facebook as their main channel for connecting and communicating with customers, and neglecting the rest.... As we’ve seen recently with Facebook’s news, that tap can be turned off in an instant and there’s not much you can do about it. So we’ve been thinking about the best ways to keep the conversation flowing without being at the mercy of Facebook - or LinkedIn, or Twitter or Instagram or even TikTok for that matter. Best of all, they’re not expensive - and they’re all super effective. Check out our 5 B2B digital marketing tactics that AREN’T social media. Are you doing these? https://themarketingproject.com.au/5-b2b-digital-marketing/ #B2Bcontent #B2Bmarketing #Facebook #SocialMedia

11.01.2022 Where are the best channels to get fresh audience insights? Last week we went through the five questions you need to answer about your audience, to refresh your knowledge base after the tough year we’ve had. After all, many businesses have changed and adapted - including your clients - so you need to keep up!... But where do you find the answers to those questions? In our opinion the best way to do this research is to simply pick up the phone there's always a friendly customer who needs a check-in. Otherwise you can look through: Industry news publications, and their social media profiles. Read the comments and take note of the advertisements # Social media (a good trick is to find the social media pages for industry events, and jump on those hashtags) Webinars targeted at your customers (and follow the speakers on social media to stay in touch) Keyword research - just as you’d do it for your own marketing. Try to find what are they looking for and spot a few key trends Online discussion forums like Reddit and Quora. Take note of the language people use in those industry hubs - you can use it in your marketing What other sources do you turn to when you want to learn more about your customers? #marketingagency #marketingspecialist #marketingexpert #b2bmarketing #b2b

03.01.2022 Parents with young kids - how are you enjoying working alongside the chorus of little noisemakers? We've been a semi-remote business for over 6 years - our founder Holly is well-versed in running Zoom calls while juggling simultaneous requests for food and toys But it’s been truly inspiring to see so many parents launching themselves into this responsibility. ... We’ve seen new sides of clients, friends and family - and a whole new layer of authenticity in our working lives that may have been lacking before. And for Holly, it’s nice to not have to pretend anymore when it’s time for lizard hunting or a jump on the trampoline! Of course, nothing’s changed in terms of the work we deliver, and we still place plenty of importance on our professionalism... But now we just have a bit more understanding of people's 'whole lives' - and at TMP we think we’re all better off for it. #remotework #parenting #homeschool
