23.01.2022 Big night tonight at the CIT Awards. Our tall, brooding and handsome lad Byron Day-Rea took out the Chemworks award for best butchery apprentice (the very same yours truly took home all the way back in 2004) !!! Big congratulation to Byron, I feel very proud to have been a part of his success and can truly say he is vital to my own success and happiness and that all of us at market meats are better for having him around.

20.01.2022 Evening all, quick update on our raging inferno . A dutiful and vigilant belconnite made a call to the fire brigade reporting smoke issuing from the premises however what they couldnt see was that it was coming out of a chimney. No alarms were set off and no smoke was present in the shop. There was no damage and the only victims were a pair of pork legs. The poor porcine did suffer a great deal of smoke inhalation but both have made a full recovery...theyre cured. Cou...ldnt have happened to a nicer pair of pigs, almost cut down in their prime.(sorry, couldnt help myself). To some up; Alls good, no fire, no smoke , no damage and definitely no injuries. 16.01.2022 Morning all! Just a friendly reminder that this is the last week to order your Christmas hams! Because we make our hams in a more traditional way, the full process for making a ham takes around a week, hence we need to cut off orders a week out from Christmas! Orders will close 5pm Sunday afternoon. We will do a final tally and any hams we have over the orders will be put out for sale on the morning of sat 21st on a first come first serve basis. In other news, I am seeking... staff for 2020, so if you or someone you know is a qualified tradesperson(yes, women can be butchers too) or interested in taking up an apprenticeship we would love to meet you !!!
