07.01.2022 YATALA ROAD SURFACE UPGRADE Soon this section of Stanmore Road in Yatala will no longer resemble the surface of the moon! After speaking with Yatala locals, I know many are concerned about the state of the road heading under the rail bridge to Exit 38, which has been made worse due to recent heavy rain. This stretch is notorious for quite a bumpy ride - mainly due to potholes caused by high volumes of heavy trucks using this road every day. ... Good news! Commencing today (14 January) this section will be resurfaced to ensure a smoother and safer drive for all. At the same time, pavement strength will also been improved, so the road can better withstand heavy trucks in the future. These roadworks will happen over a few nights to minimise impact on traffic. Detours will also be in place of an evening, so please drive carefully around this area.

04.01.2022 Kicking goals lighting up Division 1 soccer Very excited to be able to announce today City of Gold Coast has just broken ground on a big lighting project at Ormeau Football Club in Norfolk Village. Contractors are this week getting started on works for brand new light posts, which will flood all fields with light, and benefit hundreds of players and spectators on training and game nights.... Posts should be up in the next week or so and we’re hoping fields will be lit before March, so stay tuned

03.01.2022 I'm no road engineer, but I'm pretty certain this isn't supposed to happen After coming across this 'asphalt puzzle' recently at Caswell Court on one of my daily drives around Ormeau, I brought it to the attention of City officers, and this road will be repaired as a priority on Thursday this week. Have you seen any potholes or road surfaces in need to repair in your neighbourhood? If so, send them through to my office at [email protected] and I'll drive over and take a look. Did you know you can report a pothole online on the City of Gold Coast website? Check out this link https://www.goldcoast.qld.gov.au/report-a-problem-roads-foo

02.01.2022 If you've got a spare few seconds, why not fly-over the recently opened Stage 1 of Pimpama Sports Hub!? This amazing drone footage clearly shows the brand new lit netball courts with a clubhouse, pathways and nature walks, playgrounds and picnic areas that are now open for our community to use. Still to come when Stage 2 of Pimpama Sports Hub is finalised before the end of the year... Five swimming pools, a fitness centre and eight tennis courts!... More information on what will undoubtedly be a world-class City of Gold Coast sport and rec facility for our Division 1 community can be found right here https://www.goldcoast.qld.gov.au/pimpama-sports-hub-51056.h
