23.01.2022 A new water feature commission by Mark Heidenreich consisting of four individually thrown elements. The sketch gives an idea of size and assembly. Each of the four elements can be seen in the photos.

20.01.2022 Mark working on one of two large thrown ceramic planters commissioned by a client looking to match existing garden features. The planter will have a decorative glaze applied to the rim Hard to appreciate the scale of these due to limitations of iPhone but they will stand around 80cm high and a similar diameter.

20.01.2022 A large thrown ceramic urn by Mark Heidenreich - looking particularly elegant in its proportions - almost in spite of its large dimensions. Destined to be a feature in some fortunate person’s garden, Mark was quite pleased with this one.

19.01.2022 Mark lays down the base of a large ceramic pot explains the technique of throwing large forms to a visitor to Terra-Villa Pottery in the city.

18.01.2022 Interesting glaze on a smallish (30cm approx) bowl recently crafted by Mark.

18.01.2022 The very large pot / garden feature piece is fired, cooled and just emerging from the kiln AND IT LOOKS FABULOUS! Well done Mark!

16.01.2022 Separating a large (>120cm) thrown shallow dish from the wheel using the wire. This piece will ultimately be glazed and reside in a private garden as a low water feature attracting birds, frogs and aquatic insects into the garden.

16.01.2022 Mark Heidenreich working on a very large pot commissioned for a special garden. This pot, still on the wheel and only partially thrown will eventually be 1300mm high with a diameter of a 1000mm. The awesome size of this ceramic pot is an example of Mark’s unequaled ability to throw very large forms.

15.01.2022 Another artfully crafted amphora by master potter Mark Heidenreich of Terra-Villa pottery. An amphora is a vessel used in a traditional wine making technique but could also be used as a beautiful unique feature in a garden - plumbed or not.

12.01.2022 Another stunning feature garden pot on the wheel at Terra-Villa pottery in Adelaide. If you happen to be at the Central Market during the week make some time to cross the road, introduce yourself, and take a look at Mark Heidenreich’s beautiful hand crafted creations.

06.01.2022 Another delightful large planter designed and crafted by Mark Heidenreich of Terra-Villa pottery in Adelaide CBD.

04.01.2022 The form of the very large pot posted a week ago is now completed and it is slowly drying before firing in the kiln. It’s a slow delicate process controlling the drying rate so no cracking and no slumping - especially this time of the year.

03.01.2022 And here is one of those striking large planters (previous post 27 Oct) just being unloaded from the kiln. Interesting texture applied to the planter with a contrasting mid-green gloss glaze to the rim.

02.01.2022 The magnificent and very large pot / garden feature piece mentioned in the post 20 December has finally air died sufficiently and made it to the kiln - and it only just squeezed in!
