21.01.2022 The new amenities building at Edgeworth Football Club is looking fantastic. I went and had a look at the facility this morning and I think the club and supporte...rs will be very pleased once it’s completed in June. The new amenities include unisex change rooms, referees room, canteen and storage area. It will no doubt improve the game day experience for the players, spectators, referees and club officials. 10.01.2022 CHANGES TO RESTRICTIONS NSW Health recorded another locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, bringing the total to 2 cases. As ...a result, changes to restrictions in the Greater Sydney area are being put in place from 5pm today. This includes all local Government Areas in Sydney, Wollongong, Blue Mountains and the Central Coast Council area. This does not apply to Newcastle or Lake Macquarie Local Government Areas, however if you travel for work or are heading to Sydney this weekend then this will apply to you. As of 5pm: A maximum of 20 visitors to your home. No singing or dancing at venues, including pubs, clubs and religious venues. Weddings can have dancing but a cap of 20 will apply. Indoor drinking at hospitality venues must be seated. Masks are compulsory for all indoor venues such as retail, theatres, hospitals, aged care facilities and for front-of-house hospitality staff (except in a hospitality venue when eating or drinking) All hospitality workers will be required to wear a mask. Visitors to aged care facilities will be limited to two people. Masks are compulsory for public transport. I would urge everyone in NSW with even the mildest symptoms, such as headache, fatigue, cough, sore throat or runny nose, to come forward immediately for testing, then isolate until they receive a negative result. There are more than 300 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW. To find your nearest clinic, visit: https://www.nsw.gov.au//how-to-protect-yourself-an/clinics or contact your GP.

09.01.2022 Work to build the replacement bridge at Barnsley Weir is still on track to commence in the middle of this year with the project now released to market. The pro...ject involves construction of a dual-lane bridge over Cockle Creek, realignment of The Weir Road to improve road safety and construction of a 2.5m-wide shared pathway on the northern side of the bridge to provide safer access for pedestrians and cyclists. Tenders are due later this month, after which they will be assessed with construction to commence in the coming months. We understand and greatly appreciate how patient the community has been in getting this project underway especially as the existing weir is closed following damage during April's flooding event. In addition to the bridge replacement project, we are also continuing to investigate the structural integrity of the weir and will provide an update when the risk, feasibility and cost of repairing it is determined. Keep updated at lm.city/weirbridge #lakemac
