23.01.2022 Meet the Crawley family - our 2021 Beanie for Brain Cancer Ambassadors We all had a tough year in 2020 - isolation, restrictions, no travel, missing relatives and friends, home schooling - but some had a worse year than others. Much worse. Take a few minutes to meet the Crawley family - you’ll be glad you did. You won’t meet a nicer bunch of humans. A very normal, tight knit family living a very normal life that takes a big U turn. This is an inspirational family, built f...rom quiet strength, humility and humanity and the glue that keeps it all together love. The words "inspirational" and journey are far too overused and watered down these days - but this Journey" gives you a taste of the reality that most brain cancer patients live through. And this family truly is inspirational - though they would be the last to think so. Read their story here: https://markhughesfoundation.com.au//2021-beanie-for-brain See more

03.01.2022 We have received such an outpouring of support and well wishes for our amazing MHF Beanie for Brain Cancer Ambassadors - The Crawley Family. Have you read their story yet? ..... "As Jason (43) turned the car into the street where his workplace was, something changed. He suddenly lost the ability to speak. The words wouldn’t come out and he felt the muscles in one side of his face drop. He knew straight away something was not right and his instinct was to stop driving. He pul...led the car over immediately into the driveway of his work and put the car in park. He remembers nothing from this point. His two sons, Jackson (11) and Jacob (8) then witnessed their dad have a seizure for the first time in their young lives and had enough foresight to Facetime their mum to say something had happened to dad and show her through FaceTime. Jillian recalls seeing Jason unresponsive and the boys reporting his arms were flapping involuntarily and something was coming out of his mouth. As Jillian rang triple 0 on another phone she relayed the information she gathered from what she could see and what the boys passed on to her and took directions from the emergency worker whilst the ambulance was in transit. She was instructed to ask her two young sons if their dad was breathing, if the handbrake was on and instructed them to turn the car engine off - which was still running..... " Jackson and Jacob have been awarded a citation for courage from NSW Ambulance for their swift action on this day. You can continue reading their story here... https://markhughesfoundation.com.au//2021-beanie-for-brain
