24.01.2022 This is the 3rd video in the series on Mental Health by Mark Korduba Psychologist. In this video Mark talks all things relationships. He specifically focuses ...on the number 1 reason why relationships break down and that is poor communication. He outlines actionable strategies of how to have a difficult conversation in a relationship. 1 identify the underlying issue (e.g., trust) 2. explain both emotionally and intellectually where it is that you are coming from 3. negotiation. He also talks about the difference between good and great relationships. About 20% of relationships fall into the great relationship category - 50% fall into the good relationship category. One of the main differences is the courage to have these difficult conversations regularly - even when your relationship is going well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0h9wlU8Syk

13.01.2022 This is the first video in a series of videos Mark Korduba Psychologist is doing on Mental Health. In this video he shares some tips on how you can better manage your own anxiety. Specifically how you can manage technology better. He discusses the idea of chunking and using Apps such as #Freedom and #Offtime to help you to be more focused and less distracted. He also discusses how you can structure your day more effectively. Inspired by Tim Ferriss what the first 60-90 minutes of your day should look like. How to do deep work. How to wind down at the end of the day before bed and the importance of daily routines. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6c-L3vBgP0

07.01.2022 https://www.nytimes.com//su/happiness-is-other-people.html In this world that we live in where everyone is increasingly becoming selfish in their desire to achieve happiness (i.e., mediation retreats, needing to exercise 3+ times per week, paleo diet). It is important to remember relationships with others (and I would argue some struggle) has historically made us happy. Another really great article from the Newyorktimes. The funny thing is that technology is lessening our relationships with others not strengthening it (according to the research). Apparently the average person spends just 24 hours per year (30 mins per week) actively socialising (i.e., parties, restaurants etc) outside of work.
