24.01.2022 David and Sarah Markotis Making some memories at the Bakery before it officially closes. Proud of Mum and Dad and our families for years of hard work. It’s been a second home we’ve grown up there I found my wife there and got to bring my girls there all the time. Will miss it but looking forward to Mum and Dads retirement. Thanks Samantha for making the video.

12.01.2022 THE END OF THE BAKING LINE Yep it’s sad day for pie lovers in Manjimup with the Markotis Manjimup Bakery closing down after 53 years. Over the decades thre...e generations of Markotis’ have run a bakery in Manjimup- and today three generations were at the bakery to say farewell to the family business. It’s a sad, but happy day say the three Markotis Brothers who jointly own and run the bakery. It’s really great to see the people all the hard work that’s been done over those years. People coming back and buying up their last lot of bread and cakes and pies, said Jim Markotis He said it was hard work and long hours, but worth it in the end. You got to know everyone and it was a great lifestyle at that time in the morning. People are telling you their story, they’ve had a bad day or a good day. It was good- I enjoyed it and my brothers did too, he said. While the brothers have different plans for retirement- we’re told there won’t be much baking involved. And the one thing they’ll miss the most from the bakery? Everyone seemed to love our vanilla slices and our hot-cross buns, our cherry tarts. "Our cherry tarts we started doing them for the Cherry Festival and everyone started using them instead of fruit mince pies for Christmas," Jim Markotis said.
