25.01.2022 Two and a half hours to go for you to Vote 1 Mark Rodda, Independent.
24.01.2022 Road trip with my family to Walcha via Woolbrook with some flyers and how-to-votes. The rain showers were good but not quenching enough. I hope we see more because towns like Walcha need a more reliable and secure water supply. A new pipeline and further investigations into an Apsley scheme. #Tamworth #WerrisCreek #Barraba #Manilla #Nundle #Walcha #Somerton #Gunnedah #EmeraldHill #Mullaley #TambarSprings #Moonbi #Kootingal #Bendemeer #Watermark #Breeza #Curlewis #Currabubula #Carroll #Duri #Woolbrook #Woolomin #Ogunbil #Weabonga #Namoi #Independent
24.01.2022 This is frustrating! Hoss Causeway #Carroll on the Oxley Highway apparently to be completed by late 2018. No action there for months. The Liberal and Nationals can find money for #Sydneystadiumsplurge but not to complete rural infrastructure. #NSWelection #NSWVotes2019 #Auspol
23.01.2022 It’s been a while since #Tamworth flooded. Not a big one but sure to quench.
23.01.2022 There are often memorable vistas in Tamworth and district.
22.01.2022 People have been asking me about how to direct preferences or who I am preferencing and I want to confirm what I have said from the beginning. I am a true independent and as such, I have not made any preference deals with any party or candidate. This is proven by my How-To-Vote card appearing below. I simply ask that you Vote 1 Mark Rodda and then number each square on the ballot paper according to your preference. You choose your preferences not me.
22.01.2022 A wonderful Christmas present for our region: Chaffey Dam - 40.1% (from a low of 12.9% in January 2020.) Level 1 restrictions likely next week. Dungowan Dam - 100% Keepit Dam - 31.6% Split Rock Dam - 6.7%... Merry Christmas to you all.
21.01.2022 Minority Government/Hung Parliament likely after NSW Election. In a recent Newspoll poll the two NSW major parties are locked at 50% each. This points to a minority government if the result is reflected in voting on 23/03/19. In these circumstances the fine people of the Electorate of Tamworth must seriously consider the merits of electing a dedicated community focussed independent cross-bencher rather than the likelihood of an opposition backbencher.... I ask you to consider electing me in this capacity. I am independent, local and not a puppet of a party controlled from Sydney. Please also remember to number every box in order of YOUR preference. #Tamworth #WerrisCreek #Barraba #Manilla #Nundle #Walcha #Somerton #Gunnedah #EmeraldHill #Mullaley #TambarSprings #Moonbi #Kootingal #Bendemeer #Watermark #Breeza #Curlewis #Currabubula #Carroll #duri #Woolomin #Ogunbil #Weabonga #Namoi #Independent
20.01.2022 Rangari Road as well as Goonoo Goonoo Road, the Banksia Acute mental health unit too. Time to progress these projects.
19.01.2022 #Liberal Arts Minster Don Harwin pork-barrelling in Coalition seats to the detriment of Tamworth and elsewhere. Make Tamworth matter by making it marginal.
18.01.2022 Why wasn’t this little bloke flexing his muscles four years ago when Baird and his Nat colleagues were busy putting up their hands for privatisation of everything including record high electricity charges. Liberal policies deliberately encouraging the expansion of Sydney to the detriment of rural NSW. In the years ahead Sydney’s electoral representation will rise from 55 seats to 69 leaving rural/regional NSW with just 24. The electoral battles between the major parties will ...only need to occur on the eastern side of the Great Dividing Range (GDR) because despite the political colour on this side of the GDR we won’t matter anymore. This is thanks to the party that purports to represent rural and regional Australia. But sadly too few people care. Parliamentary careers are more important than standing up for something.
18.01.2022 Thanks Kevin for this delightful reminder - 3 years ago we were all celebrating the Chaffey Dam augmentation. The augmentation was meant to secure our water future but now questions of management abound. How we have gone from more than 100% capacity in 2016 to 17.8% 01/11/19. On 04/03/16 Kevin said Bigger dams better water security. In 2019 we say Better managed dams better water security.
17.01.2022 Not going too well. $100,000,000.00 blowout today but probably $500 million by the end. This is what Kevin Anderson MP party recklessly sold the former Land Titles office for just a few years ago.
14.01.2022 Just to keep you all updated, after Tamworth Early Voting Centre figures were added today. More than 13,000 electors votes at the Tamworth centre over the fortnight.
14.01.2022 The following probably represents the final primary vote tally before the Two Candidate Preferred count is conducted (as opposed to the Two Party Preferred count) which is a process of eliminating the candidate with the least amount of votes, then the next then so on until the winning candidate and runner up is established based on the preferences of electors. Again I would like to thank the electors who put their number one in the box adjacent my name, more 8,000 and also to... the many kind and willing volunteers who supported me at Early Voting centres and at polling booths on Election Day. I would also like to congratulate the winning Member for Tamworth, Kevin Anderson who has also been appointed to the Ministry as Minister for Better Regulation and Innovation albeit an unusual title and mix of government functions. Finally and certainly not least I would like to thank my other opponents and election colleagues: Jeff Bacon - SFF Tamworth Steve Mears - Country Labor for Tamworth #RobinGunning and their volunteers who were always friendly and polite throughout the campaign. Best of luck to you all into the future. Farewell for now. Best Wishes Mark
13.01.2022 I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many Early Voting/Prepoll helpers over the last two weeks (too many to name), in Tamworth and Gunnedah particularly those in both locations who organised the volunteers - Gemma Norman, Phil Herbert and last and certainly not least the indefatigable Adele Mazoudier.
13.01.2022 Just hours unto Election Day, Saturday 23 March 2019. Why would you vote for me? I am the only dedicated community focussed independent candidate keen to serve our people and communities. I am local and not a puppet of a party controlled from Sydney. #Tamworth #WerrisCreek #Barraba #Manilla #Nundle #Walcha #Somerton #Gunnedah #EmeraldHill #Mullaley #TambarSprings #Moonbi #Kootingal #Bendemeer #Watermark #Breeza #Curlewis #Currabubula #Carroll #Duri #Woolomin #Ogunbil #Weabon...ga #Namoi #Independent Mark Rodda See more
10.01.2022 The final distribution of preferences for your information. Second but a distant second in the end. Best wishes Mark
09.01.2022 We need a State MP that is much more than being a good bloke. We need an MP that will stand up for his or her turf, the Electorate of Tamworth, willing to cross the floor of Parliament when required if policy and legislative decisions are harmful to their constituents like the electricity sell-offs, TAFE cuts and the sale of the former Land Titles office. We need a Government to deliver critical medical, police and educational services to keep rural NSW appealing and viabl...e. To keep cost of living pressures at bay not side with city-slickers who have little to no regard for the future of people west of the Great Dividing Range. I want a future for rural NSW that is not being neglected and undermined by the major parties. A future that gives our kids the option of staying and working here, not forced to Sydney or elsewhere because of educational or economic realities. The Nationals haven t been the dedicated voice rural NSW needs. We need rural MP’s willing to use the balance of power they have to leverage the very best outcomes for rural NSW. Most importantly, I am a father and I refuse to let my sons and daughters, or indeed any child in this electorate, be a second class citizen. I hope that over the next few weeks you will consider your future, the polls are close, the Coalition may lose its control are we better to have an opposition back-bencher or a dedicated community cross-bencher serving our community? Why should you vote for me? I am the only community focussed and dedicated independent candidate. I am not beholden to head office or party control or indeed the influence of powerful party donors in mining or other industries. I am local and not a puppet of a party controlled from Sydney. #Tamworth #Independent #Rodda #Nationals #Shooters #Fishers #Farmers #Labor #Greens
05.01.2022 The unnecessary demolition and rebuild of State infrastructure like this in the back of the privatisation of the former NSW Land Titles Office was always a low point for this Government. Sadly no one really cares.
04.01.2022 What a difference a day makes, Chaffey Dam up 3 billion litres in 24 hours. Warms the cockles of your heart.
04.01.2022 Your community advocate on #Tamworth Regional Council.
03.01.2022 I would like to sincerely thank the many electors who supported me and placed a 1, 2, 3 or other digit on their ballot paper for me, your kind support at early voting or election day is appreciated. I would also like to sincerely thank my helpers and volunteers who manned the polling booths and helped out throughout the campaign. Counting should be updated over the next few days in Tamworth. Currently I am third on primary votes and if prepoll is as kind as generally the Tam...worth booths were I could slip into second place and with preferences from lower placed order candidates, that is where I may end up. While it wasn’t the result I would have liked both my fellow candidates and I applied enough pressure to extract a number of exciting promises for our region including: Gunnedah hospital + staff, Werris Creek road, Rangari Road, Goonoo Goonoo road duplication, a drug and alcohol unit attached to a new Banksia Acute Mental health unit + staff, Tamworth University, a bigger Chaffey Dam, less taxes more jobs, more country nurses and police, assistance for drought affected farmers and $250 seniors travel card and we continue to await the Tamworth Intermodal rail hub. I’ll be keen to hold them to account. I ran a short, lean campaign and I could not match the might of the big spending parties. The things that bind us together as Australians are far more important than the things that divide us. Again I thank you for your support, this is not the end.
03.01.2022 Purely on a dollar figure comparison between the electorate of Tamworth and next door in Northern Tablelands we did not. Over three budgets Northern Tablelands would be heading for 3/4 of a billion dollars. Where is Tamworth’s privatisation dollars?
03.01.2022 Hello Friends, Supporters and Family Just a quick message to appeal to you for assistance of some of your precious time to assist with a few small rural polling booths this Saturday within our electorate? The crucial times are setup from around 7.30am to 1pm. ... I want our Electorate of Tamworth to matter by making it marginal.
03.01.2022 Hello my friends a number of you have kindly offered to assist me on Election Day or before and of course I am very grateful. I am appealing for more helpers so if you can spare an hour or two on Saturday 23rd March 2019 around the Tamworth or country polling booths, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank You.
02.01.2022 Tamworth Country Music is in great hands - @charliecollins @felicityurquhart . Proud of you both.
