25.01.2022 Great day in Murgon with the barriers being loaded onto the truck. This signifies the end of the footpath replacement in the CBD. A huge thanks to Cr Kathy Duff who pushed for years to make this dream come true, Project Manager Luke Chadwallader and all of the contractors who have worked crazy hours to minimise impact on businesses in Lamb St. A huge shout out to all of our patient customers who have worked through this with us. 24.01.2022 Just want to give a huge shout out to everyone who has signed the online petition trying to convince Wesfarmers to change their mind and turn our Country Target into a K Mart Hub. A business like this one is a vital part of our community. There are also petition form at many businesses through out the town and will be at neighbouring towns within days. Thanks go out to Cr Kathy Duff , Mayor Brett Otto and other members of the Murgon Business and Development Association for their quick action on such a vital cause.

16.01.2022 Well me hearties the Plank is gone , concrete is down, it was walk the carpet today. So, I promised to draw the $100 voucher when the Plank came down. That was before I knew that Shaz from Crow FM 90.7 will be in Lamb St on Friday morning in the Rockin Rodster. Shaz will be drawing the $100 voucher live on air around 8.20 Friday morning. 04.01.2022 It was on this day in 1978 that I commenced a journey which lead me to where we are today. I started work at Thompsons Mercery all those years ago. I worked with Brian and the Thompson family for 14 1/2 years before Janelle and I bought the business in 1993. I have so much admiration for Brian for the nurturing and guidance he gave me over the years and I am happy to say that we are greatest of friends today. Not only Brian but the whole Thompson family, who I love and re...spect. Since purchasing the business and changing the name to Mark Smiths Menswear there has been many changes, some good, some bad. But by and large its been a fantastic journey. I apologies to my children, who never got to go on holidays as a family but thats the way it was. We did have some fantastic weekends though. I thank them all for their support. I have met some of the most amazing people over the years and have some really great customers,who I would sincerely like to thank. Without you people, we dont exist. As I head into the final years of the journey I would like to thank my family, my dad Reg, who encouraged me when needed, my brother Neil who is always there for support , my children Lauren, Jeremy and Kelsie and their families and especially my wife of 41 years Janelle. Thank you all. When it come time to call it quits, hope we find someone to buy the business and not have to close it down because I think we have something special here at 87 Lamb St Murgon Thanks everyone for your support. Ill be here to look after you for a while yet. See more
