22.01.2022 A massive Thank You to the community for voting for us! Although we did not win, we have been awarded $500.00 towards our LED Billboard. The LED Billboard will be used to promote what is on at the Centre, for community notices/announcements and to raise awareness about local issues, and to support local events and activities. It will be free of charge to the broader community.

16.01.2022 BREAKING: Queensland borders will close to New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory from 1am this Saturday, August 8. All visitors will be denied en...try except for rare exemptions and returning Queenslanders will have to pay for 14 days mandatory hotel quarantine. Queensland’s Chief Health Officer has declared all of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory as hotspots. Only residents of border communities and essential workers, such as truck drivers, will be able to cross the border. Exemptions including for compassionate reasons will be limited. Passes for border communities will be for those with proof of address and photo ID. The border closure will be reviewed at the end of the month. #covid19au



15.01.2022 Level 1 water restrictions in force from tomorrow, November 17 The result of ongoing dry weather, the mandatory Level 1 restrictions apply to households and ...businesses for the whole of the Cairns Regional Council area. Level 1 water restrictions have been imposed, with Copperlode Falls Dam having dropped below the 80 per cent mark a trigger for Level 1 restrictions. The main consideration of Level 1 restrictions is shorter hours for automated watering, such as sprinklers. Residents will only be able to use automated watering between 6am and 8am, and 6pm and 8pm on the following days: Odd-numbered houses Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday Even-numbered houses Wednesday, Friday and Sunday No automated watering on Mondays

14.01.2022 As mentioned last month.Tuesday Luncheons are returning to the Centre. Although a little later that we had hoped our first lunch will be: October 6! The cost is $8 for members and $10 for non members and please let us know about any dietary requirements before October 1. So save the date and we look forward to seeing you here, at the Centre, from 11.30am. Lunch will be served at 12.30pm.

With your help, we could receive an additional $5,000 towards this project!... Congratulations and thank you Allison for your tireless dedication. A massive congratulations also to Huong {Rosie} Baxter who has been nominated for - Vocational Student of the Year and Equity VET Student of the Year, and Rikki Bruce who has been nominated for - Vocational Student of the Year, Equity VET Student of the Year and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year.

Participants must maintain 1.5m from others and provide their personal details for contact tracing purposes, as mandated by the State Government. The Bouldering class on the Cairns Esplanade will not resume just yet, as social distancing cannot be maintained, and the start of Tai Chi and meditation classes is delayed as instructors are unavailable.
