12.01.2022 We are looking for more former swimmers to do an issue of ‘Marlin Memories’! Please contact us if you would like to be in the next issue.

10.01.2022 Marlin Memories Issue: 4 Name: Cara Plunkett... Where are you now? I now swim for St Andrew’s Swim Club on the Sunshine Coast. How long did you swim for Marlin Coast? From Learn to Swim to squad (2010-2016). Who was your Coach? Nick Moore, Ben Eales and Matt Turner. Best training memory? After my training sessions finished sometimes coach Ben would let me stay longer and train with the state kids even though I wasn’t one then. It was exciting and made me want to train harder so I could be a state kid one day too. Best competition memory? One of my first carnivals when I was 9 I did the 100 fly. Even though it took me like 5 minutes the whole pool was cheering for me and I got my first medal (there was only 3 of us in the race ). Advice to current swimmers? Get up in the morning. Even if you are tired and it’s cold and dark, get up. The day is always better when it starts in the pool. Thank you for sharing Cara!

10.01.2022 Congratulations to all the swimmers who participated in last seasons Swim FanTAStic Series! The club finished up 3rd overall and received a nice money prize. Thank you TAS Swimming Club for hosting the events.

10.01.2022 Anther successful Club Night! Was awesome to see all the younger swimmers racing and having fun.

10.01.2022 Congratulations to Hugo who just swam a PB in his 100 Butterfly and picked up a Silver Medal as well!

08.01.2022 Marlin Memories Issue: 3 Ryan Clark ... Where you are now? Working full time as an IT technician while finishing my uni degree. How long did you swim for Marlin Coast? I swam at marlin coast for 7 years between 2013 and 2019 Who was your Coach? I had Ben Eales, Ben Geard and Nick Moore as a coach. Best training memory? I don't exactly have a favorite training memory, but it was often my favorite part of the day. Getting to spend time with my friends and club mates kept me in training. Best competition memory? My favorite competition memories was FNQ champs. All the interclub competition made for great racing and the March past was amazing. Advice to current swimmer? Find the right balance for you, it can be all to easy to fall behind in other aspects of your life when dedicating to such a demanding sport. Thanks Ryan!
