19.01.2022 As part of the new Covid-19 contact tracing requirements put in place by the WA Government, Marmion Beach Fitness has put new systems in place to ensure that we have adequate records of all persons entering the facility. A reminder to our members - Please ensure you swipe your card/fob every time you enter and again when you leave. There is also a QR code at the reception desk and on the lockers that we would appreciate you use along with the SafeWA app. A little bit of doubl...ing up we know, but worth it if we can keep everyone healthy and safe. Visitors to Marmion Beach Fitness - All visitors will be required to either sign the visitors register or scan the QR code through the SafeWA app. The WA Government has informed us that your information will only be stored for 28 days and only be used for the purpose of Covid-19 contact tracing should it be required. Please note: people under the age of 16 are not required to sign the register or use the QR code. Also, just a friendly reminder to wipe down equipment after use, ensure you bring a large towel and use our hand sanitiser on entering and exiting the gym. 08.01.2022 Here's how you should prioritize the different components of your fat loss efforts. 1Calorie Deficit: Eating less calories than your body needs is the only way to lose fat - keep in mind that you should try to eat a variety of foods to ensure you get the necessary macros and micros you need to function at a high level. 2Eat Enough Protein: to maintain muscle mass, to recover from workouts, to keep you full and satiated when you’re dieting and so you get toned aka you don’...t turn skinny fat. 3Lift Weights: 2-5x a week! (usually 3-4 is a sweet spot for most people) make sure you incorporate large compound movements and don’t be afraid to go heavy, it WON’T make you bulky unless you eat too many calories. Even then still extremely hard to gain 'bulk' for females. 4Sleep/Stress: This one could be even higher up because lack of sleep and or high stress levels makes everything else way more difficult. 7-9 hours a night to recover, rest and keep your hunger levels in check. When you don’t sleep enough and your stress levels are high, your body will be hungrier and you won't recover as well from your workouts. So get those Zzzs and chill out! 5NEAT - Non Active Energy Thermogenesis i.e 10k steps/day, gardening, washing the dishes general movement. Finding active hobbies you enjoy will make you move more and make it a lot more fun to burn extra calories. 6Cardio - Keep the heart ticking and blood pumping. Find what works for you, your lifestyle, habits, and preferences. Focus on the BIG stuff and don’t let the little things distract you from the big picture.

06.01.2022 Can dehydration can make you fat? Sometimes when we are thirsty we eat food rather than drink water. This may cause unnecessary weight gain, especially for a inactive person. When your body is dehydrated, just a little bit, often it wont tell you with a dry throat or mouth, but rather with a feeling of being hungry. Heres the thing, if you just ate a sufficient meal not too long ago how can you really need to eat again?... To know if you need water or food, next time you are hungry when you have already ate a meal, drink a couple glasses of pure water. If the hunger pangs subside youll know you just needed to feed the body some water. The body needs at least 2 to 3 litres of water a day, and drinking more than that will keep you from feeling hungry. Not only that, but it will also help you eliminate more toxins from your body. Eventually your body will stop telling you its hungry because you are maintaining hydration throughout the day. When you drink enough water throughout the day you are feeding the tissues and cells in your body and that gets the enzymatic system moving, which actually releases fat toxins out of the body! Now isnt that good news? Rehydrating the body through pure water gets your metabolism running in full balance rather than being slow and sluggish, which is a cause of weight gain.
