07.01.2022 We have been informed by Caritas and various priests in Beirut that they are in need of mattresses for hundreds of families that are sleeping on the floor either in their broken homes or on church grounds. Yesterday we placed an order with FAP Beirut for 1000 mattresses. These mattresses will be distributed via Caritas, the Lebanese Maronite Order and Brothers and Sisters of the Cross in Lebanon.... We are also obtaining information on the damage to homes in Beirut. Once a list of homes and the urgent repairs required (such as windows, doors, ceiling and roof, lights, etc) is prepared, we will allocate a significant amount of funds for these urgent repairs. To date, we have raised $180,000. Your donations are greatly appreciated. Please continue to assist as there is much assistance required and work to do. To donate, please visit our website: www.maronitesonmission.com Tomorrow please join us on Sawt El Ghat Radio 1620AM from 8am for information about Lebanon and the Beirut Disaster Relief Appeal. God bless you and your families, Lebanon, Australia and Maronites on Mission.

05.01.2022 Feast of St Maroun We celebrate today the feast of our spiritual father, St Maroun. The spirituality of St Maroun was that of a monk and hermit. It involved mortification of the body and the perfection of the soul through: daily prayer, fasting and sacrifices. And this spirit of mortifying the body to sanctify the soul was evident in the lives of the followers of Maroun and the history of the Maronites who were willing to give up their life in defence of the true faith in Je...sus Christ. The feast of St Maroun is an occasion for all of us, especially for Maronites, to be reminded that they belong to a family of saints. St Maroun and then the saints who followed in his footsteps: St John Maroun, St Charbel, St Rafqa, St Nehmetallah and many others, are role models in living the faith and outstanding examples of putting one’s trust in the Lord. May we walk in their footsteps. Happy Feast Day!

02.01.2022 Child Protection Sunday 13 September 2020 The Church in Australia dedicates the second Sunday of September to Child Protection Sunday. On this Sunday, we acknowledge the damage caused and make a commitment to practices and protocols that create and maintain safe environments for all people, especially children and other people who are at risk. On this day, we also affirm that the Maronite Eparchy of Australia and its parishes and related organisations are committed to the safety and wellbeing of all people, especially minors and vulnerable individuals. Let us join each other in prayer for the children and the vulnerable people who have been hurt in any way, and let us work collaboratively to ensure the happiness and confidence of every person, and foster an environment of safety and protection.
