14.01.2022 FOR ALL YOU GEOCACHE FANS For a while now we have had a geocache site at the Wetlands. Its called Wetlands 1 (GC8GR6K). Lots of people have found it and at the same time checked out the Sanctuary and done the walk along the boardwalk. If you haven't, give it a try!... The latest comment was: "We'd been meaning to check this place out and as we were right next door at the strawberry farm, today was the day. After a quick log sign we took a walk down to the jetty. What a nice way to spend a Friday afternoon! We were really impressed with the poetry sound trail too. Always love watching the bird life on the Maroochy river and today didn't disappoint. Thanks for this cache in a really peaceful setting."

01.01.2022 30TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION Members, Speakers and Guests on Friday celebrated the 30th Birthday of the Opening of the Wetlands Sanctuary. Some of the original members still volunteer here and were in attendance. The Landscape Band performed some songs about our beautiful river. ... What fantastic long term commitment by all the volunteers to this special place! Also being celebrated was the opening of the new CLIMATE WATCH TRAIL in the Sanctuary, the latest project in the Wetlands. Come along and join in this citizen science endeavour to help plot seasonal changes of the selected animal and plant species. The goal is to monitor any effects climate change is having on the Sanctuary's ecosystem over time. The more data logged the better! Download the Climate Watch App before you come.
