16.01.2022 Katherine Macmillan is very lucky to have this in her back yard, Thanks KathyMac for taking some time to check the current status of the course and this little video of the Tangle foot loop. I would add that for the Marathon and 50km runners it is a real simple approach. Tanglefoot/Myrtle Gully is effectively a long West to East loop, with an internal loop in the middle joining the two sides. Given a few people took wrong turns last year and didnt read the instructions, I ho...pe this year with some extra commentary that all the 42s and 50s will be well aware of the internal loop. As runners you have a responsibility to understand what you are in for, as organisors we provide the tools to follow the set course. We mark it and provide instructions, we provide maps and you should carry them. Here they are, 42km and 50km head in on Green arrows, 42km turn right and follow yellow arrows and complete the loop before rejoining the blue arrows and heading back to Monda road, 50km continue straight ahead all the way to the Sylvia Creek Rd Picnic ground AID5, then head back following the blue arrows. On the way back the 50k runners do the yellow arrowed loop So in the simplest form, remember you have to complete a full loop of yellow arrows, this means you will arrive at Aid Station 4 two times.

As shown below these small light alloy carabiners are ideal, available at many outdoor shops for as little as three dollars. We have tested this method clipped on the waist of our shorts and it holds and sits very well, be prepared and grab a carabiner for your cup at Maroondah Dam next Sunday. www.trailsplus.com.au/maroondah

02.01.2022 PROVISIONAL RESULTS MAROONDAH DAM GARMIN MOUNTAIN TRAIL SERIES - RACE 1 The best conditions in our memory for a Maroondah Dam Run So far feedback has been very positive about the New Course Seeing other runners on the out and back design proved to be a real hit with so much encouragement being passed on as runners crossed paths in opposite direction. A couple of minor changes needed to remove some confusion in the Tanglefoot loop section otherwise a great day on the trails. ...Wishing all runners a speedy recovery and best of luck on their next adventure. And a MASSIVE thank you to ALL the volunteers, you make it awesome. Congratulations to all winners but equally to all who show courage to take the start line and begin a new adventure.
