15.01.2022 Roger has spoken to 30 people so far about mental health. It’s very important to have these conversations especially during Covid and lockdown. This is a challenging time for many. Let’s Lift The Lid on Mental illness for Australian Rotary Health. There is still time to donate ... http://paypal.me/maroondahrotary

15.01.2022 8 days to go! Our selling period ends in 8 days! This is our major fundraiser this year due to Covid changing our plans. We need your support, so we can support our community - both locally and abroad.

15.01.2022 Today marked the online launch of the Rotary Centenary Baton from Government House. The Rotary Centenary Baton is an important symbol of how we connect today and pass on our legacy to future generations. We were honored to experience this presentation online hosted by Their Excellencies The Governor General and Mrs Hurley. We were also privileged to have performances from Leo Sayer, operatic singer Nicholas Jones, Phantom of the Opera performer Josh Piterman and John Foreman (OAM) performing The Music Of The Night.

14.01.2022 Mission accomplished. We spoke to approx 70 people. Collected $7.80 cash and $325 through PayPal. ( People don’t carry money when they walk) One man thought we were selling hats!!!! **Edit- we now have $375 through PayPal... Also record of distance walked in case you wanted to pledge per km. There is still time to donate http://paypal.me/maroondahrotary

12.01.2022 Today the Rotary Club of Maroondah dropped off much needed warm jumpers to Kath from Uniting Wesley in Ringwood. This is how it happened Received Donations Purchased wool... Delivered to Opal Aged Care for their team of knitters They quickly knitted some gorgeous jumpers One of our Rotarians, Merlin collected the jumpers The jumpers were then delivered to Uniting Wesley By collaborating with our community and local networks, we have ALL achieved a wonderful accomplishment. Would you like to collaborate with us or have some ideas? Please DM us. We would to hear from you

11.01.2022 Very grateful to the team Section Technologies for donating stylus pens to use on our iPads in our shop when processing raffle ticket sales. This helps us to reduce the number of people touching equipment in our shop and keeping us even safer! Contact the Team at Section Technologies for any IT support you need.

11.01.2022 Only 2 Days to Go - before this once in a lifetime opportunity is gone! All orders MUST be in by Friday 16th October COB to purchase the 100 years of Rotary in Australia wine. Christmas is just around the corner, and these wines would make the perfect gift! Did you know these excellent one off collectors wines are $6 to $7 each cheaper than the ex cellar door price? The quality is excellent; and we are only bottling to orders so there won't be any extras available after we close off Friday.

09.01.2022 Two days is all it took from the wool delivery to Opal Aged Care to collecting these beautiful and toasty garments for our homeless. Leanne McFarland is pictured here giving our Rotarian, Merlin some home made jumpers. Leanne’s mum, Anne, knitted these beauties and is ready for more wool!

09.01.2022 With less than 2 hours to go, Roger is warming up and preparing for his 5km walk to raise funds and awareness for Let’s Lift The Lid on Mental illness for Australian Rotary Health. There is still time to donate http://paypal.me/maroondahrotary

08.01.2022 The Club changeover is traditionally a large event celebrating the outgoing President, accomplishments and welcoming the incoming President. Last night was a little different. Most of our members were able to participate either via Zoom or a phone listening to the proceedings. We also had special guests including Shia Smart (DG, Daryl Moran (DG Nominee), Christine Anderson (ADG, Ann Wheeler (Pres Lilydale) and Stephen Bode (Pres Croydon & Montrose)... After Tracy gave toast, Mark described the 4-way test. Pam followed with a toast to Rotary International and Daryl Moran reminded. President John Lambert then had the privilege of announcing the Trevor Smith Memorial Award to Peter Daniels. This award is given to a Club member for their outstanding Club involvement. John spoke about the great successes and challenges this year. The incoming President John Harding-Smith, our 51st President was inducted and announced his new Board. Together the Club already have some inspiring projects and fundraising ideas in the pipeline. John HS finished the proceedings by surprising John L with a Paul Harris Fellow. This award recognizes individuals who contribute to the humanitarian and education programs of The Rotary Foundation.

08.01.2022 The Rotary Club of Maroondah were given these beautiful garments knitted by the residents of Opal Gracedale Ringwood North. This is an ongoing project of the Rotary Club of Maroondah connecting the old and the young of our municipality in a meaningful way.
