21.01.2022 At VICSES we work together without fear, favour or prejudice. Therefore, some VICSES volunteers will be proudly supporting the LGBTIQA+ community this weekend at the Midsumma Pride March. The March will be taking place tomorrow, Sunday 23rd May. Although it’ll look a little different due to COVID-19, with a livestream available from 1045am, we’re so excited to have representatives of our organisation alongside our emergency service colleagues!

19.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.

16.01.2022 Due to the nature of COVID-19, in recent times we’d taken a break from face-to-face skills maintenance and training to focus only on responding to emergencies. From this week, you might see us back out undertaking training in small groups to ensure we have the essential skills and capability required to respond to an emergency. Emergency services as a permitted industry are able to conduct critical training and exercising under the directions, as endorsed by the Victorian Chi...ef Health Officer. Our crews are following all the COVIDSafe principles, wearing masks and working hard to ensure we are there for our community.

16.01.2022 Please be aware that with the weather change strong winds will occur. Stay safe and if you require SES call 132 500.

08.01.2022 With La Niña now well established in the Pacific Ocean, the outlook for this summer is vastly different to the past few years. Wetter-than-normal conditions a...re likely across much of the country, increasing the chance of widespread flooding in eastern Australia. La Niña also means we're expecting average to above-average numbers of tropical cyclones and tropical lows. While the risk of bushfires isn't as high as last summer, fires will occur. There's a greater chance of grass fires in some areas as recent rain and warm weather have led to vigorous vegetation growth. Summer days are likely to be warmer than average for parts of southeast Australia, coastal Queensland, and far western parts of WA. And heatwaves will continue to pose a risk throughout the warmer months, which can have a significant impact on human health.
