22.01.2022 Did you know it's Carers Week? Shout out to all the carers in our community - especially those who support children with disabilities and additional needs. We see you. We know you often feel you're just a parent, a grandparent or a friend, but we want to acknowledge all that you do as a carer to go above and beyond to support your kids. ... We see how hard it can be at times to be a carer, but we also know it can be so rewarding. We know it's been extra hard during lockdown, especially when so many support options just haven't been available. We're still here supporting carers, with new carers always welcome to join our program. For more information, or to join our free toy delivery service, email us at [email protected]

13.01.2022 VOLUNTEERS WANTED - WE NEED YOUR HELP! As we look forward to the reopening of our library, we are looking for volunteers who can regularly attend sessions, in blocks of 2-3 hours per week, during regular session times on either Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Volunteers will help with counting and processing toys, returning items to the shelf and helping the session coordinator with other odd jobs on the day. Both members and non-members are welcome to volunteer with ...us. (If you are a current member, volunteering will count towards your duty credit, and a duty toy!) We look forward to when we can resume our usual duty roster (hopefully in early 2021). Until then, we are looking for volunteers who have some time to give to help make our library the best it can be. If you'd like to volunteer, please email [email protected] with your name, phone number and available days and time and we will get back to you.

12.01.2022 The 2020 National NAIDOC Poster, Shape of Land, was designed by Tyrown Waigana, a Noongar and Saibai Islander man. It tells the story of how the Rainbow Serpent came out of the Dreamtime to create this land. It is represented by the snake and it forms the shape of Australia, which symbolises how it created our lands. The colour from the Rainbow Serpent is reflected on to the figure to display our connection to the Rainbow Serpent, thus our connection to country. The overlapping colours on the outside is the Dreamtime. The figure inside the shape of Australia is a representation of Indigenous Australians showing that this country - since the dawn of time - Always Was, Always Will Be Aboriginal Land. #NAIDOC2020

06.01.2022 You don't want to be late...

04.01.2022 We are currently looking to employ 2 additional paid staff members for short shifts (approximately 4-8 hours a fortnight as a base). These roles will be mainly Saturday work, but weekday availability is desired to cover annual and sick leave of other paid staff members, as well as additional shifts as we grow as an organisation. Ideal for someone with a keen interest in learning more about running a big and busy toy library, in a small part-time role commitment. We're seeking... people with great interpersonal skills who are able to think on their feet. You'll need to be comfortable running busy sessions solo, and pride yourself on having strong attention to detail. If that sounds like you please contact us via [email protected] by 28th October.

04.01.2022 We know our members love our many Magformers, Magsnaps and Magnatiles sets but have you tried a magnetic tile ball run yet?

04.01.2022 We're pleased to announce our second fundraising partner REMINDABLES bag tags! Remindables are colourful clip-on reminder tags for your kid’s school bag to help remind them what they need to pack and what needs to come back! Notice we said ‘them’ and not ‘you’? That’s the whole idea! Got their hat? Their asthma pump? Their lunchbox? Is sport on after school? Is Dad picking them up? I hope they don’t leave their jumper at school...again! Remindables are a fun tool to help yo...ur kids stay organised at home and at school, leaving you with one (or seven) less things to worry about! We think Remindables are the PERFECT tool to help your kids get back into the swing of things after (too many!) months of home schooling. Order your set today and help your kids easily transition back to kinder or school this term. https://www.remindables.com.au/toy-library
