24.01.2022 WE’RE OPERATING AS NORMAL Until we receive instructions otherwise, our practice remains open and operating as normal. As we have posted previously, we are operating on an ‘appointment only’ basis for the foreseeable future to enable us to limit the number of people in our clinic at any one time.... We emphasise that IF YOU ARE UNWELL PLEASE DO NOT VISIT THE CLINIC. THIS INCLUDES IF YOU ALREADY HAVE AN APPOINTMENT BOOKED. Please call us to discuss how we can help you in this situation. Please remember that we are all in this together and many many people rely on us to keep their beloved furry members of the family safe and well. We are doing our very best to ensure that we remain healthy and able to provide service to everyone who needs us. Thank you so much for your support and cooperation in these most challenging of times. Stay safe and well. Paul and the team at Maroondah Veterinary Clinic.

20.01.2022 Our new website is now up and running! Check it out here: www.maroondahveterinaryclinic.com.au

18.01.2022 We have recently received requests via Facebook for us to give professional opinions, dispense medication or provide other veterinary services without clients and their animals attending the clinic. During these times of COVID-19, we fully understand the reason for these requests. However, vets have professional, ethical and legal obligations regarding their services and prescribing medication. This means that, in almost all cases, we must physically examine the animal to ens...ure that nothing is overlooked. In addition, our staff are busy providing veterinary care, so our Facebook page and email are not continuously monitored. If you send time-critical information via Facebook or email, it may not be seen for many hours. Therefore, you should not use Facebook or email as a method of communicating with us about your sick pet. To get in touch with us, you should always call the clinic on 9870 0303 during our opening hours. We can then assist you promptly and discuss available options for providing treatment and services.

17.01.2022 WE'RE OPEN TOMORROW With the planned shutdown announced by the Victorian Government today, we are awaiting information about whether veterinary services are considered essential services. As we announced on 18 March, we have moved to an ‘appointment only’ system at all times to allow us to regulate the number of people in our clinic at any one time. We are also continuing to follow the recommendations of the relevant authorities.... We will remain open as normal until instructed otherwise, so it is business as usual tomorrow. IF YOU ARE UNWELL AND YOUR PET NEEDS AN APPOINTMENT If ANY of the following criteria apply to you, please do NOT attend the clinic, but contact us by telephone regarding your appointment: - You have recently returned from overseas in the past 14 days. - You live in close proximity with someone who has returned from overseas in the past 14 days. - You have come into contact with a known case of COVID-19. - You have the following symptoms: o Fever o Cough o Sore Throat o Shortness of Breath If any of these apply to you, please do not come to the clinic, but call us to discuss the available options. If you have any other concerns about your appointment, please don’t hesitate to contact us on 9870 0303. We are happy to discuss the available options. As far we know, COVID-19 does not affect domestic animals. We will continue to update you with any changes as they develop.

12.01.2022 As we flagged yesterday, we have put in place a number of measures in our clinic to ensure that it remains safe for everyone. CHANGE FROM ‘OPEN CLINIC’ TO APPOINTMENTS IN THE MORNINGS As a temporary measure, starting from tomorrow, Thursday 19 March, we will be operating on an ‘appointment only’ basis in the mornings. This will allow us to manage the number of people in our clinic at any one time to enable us to practise ‘social distancing’ while still keeping the clinic ope...Continue reading

09.01.2022 As Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread throughout the world, we understand that you may have concerns about how this may impact the way we see you and care for your animals. The health and safety of our employees, our clients and visitors, and the community within which we operate are of paramount importance to us. We’re following recommendations from the relevant authorities and are implementing changes to ensure our clinic continues to be safe for everyone. We will... post an update about these changes shortly. In the meantime, if you are unwell, or you live in close proximity with someone who has just returned from overseas, please let us know when you call to arrange an appointment for your animal. We will advise you on the most appropriate way that we can treat your pet. We’re all in this together. In these uncertain times, we hope you and your loved ones remain safe and healthy.

09.01.2022 We are embarking on a worldwide search to get hold of one of these.

08.01.2022 We have heard reports of leptospirosis in the local area. We have not seen any cases at our clinic and are not aware of any other cases locally. We will monitor the situation closely and post any updates on our Facebook page if this changes. Update on 20 November 2019:... We still have not seen any cases of leptospirosis at our clinic and are not aware of any others. However, if anyone is concerned, we do have the vaccine available. Please contact the clinic if you would like to arrange a vaccination for your pet.

01.01.2022 WE ARE OPEN TODAY. Although today is a public holiday, we are open from 9 am to 1 pm (by appointment only). Please call 9870 0303 to make an appointment if you need veterinary care today. We will be closed tomorrow and Monday.

01.01.2022 WE’RE UPDATING OUR PROCEDURES Thank you so much to everyone who has visited us over the past week for your support and cooperation as we adjust our procedures in rapidly changing circumstances. Starting from tomorrow, we aim to have no one in the waiting room before appointments. If you have an appointment, please remain in your car and call us when you arrive. We will collect you and your pet for your appointment as soon as we can.... If you need to collect medication, please call ahead so we ensure that we have it ready when you arrive. Please call us from your car when you arrive so that we can ensure you spend as little time as possible in the clinic. We understand that it may take some time for all of our clients to become aware of the changes as we transition to this new procedure, so we ask for your patience and cooperation. Please respect, and comply with, any staff instructions as they are acting to safeguard everyone’s wellbeing. Stay safe and well. Paul and the MVC team.
