25.01.2022 Staring Darren Mort, Ben Griffiths, Rohana Hayes and Daniel Hurst Written by Michael Gray Griffith Details and booking links below "Is it only last week Australian of the Year Grace Tame told us, History, lived experience, the whole truth, unsanitised and unedited, is our greatest learning resource. It is what informs social and structural change? Marooned is a play that fulfils this urgent purpose, using communal story-telling, aka theatre, to confront Australia’s epidemic... of life-threatening despair, shame and grief. It does so with humour and compassion and honesty. It needs to be seen." ~Harriet Cunningham The Sydney Morning Herald READ WHOLE REVIEW https://www.smh.com.au/.../a-play-about-suicide-that... The Australian Army is also touring this play. And in October it is heading to the UK. Kingston Arts Centre Theatre. 979 Nepean Highway, Moorabbin Sat 1 May 7:30PM google: Kingstonarts.com.au https://www.kingstonarts.com.au/WHATS-ON/Marooned More Reviews Marooned is undoubtedly the finest piece of theatre I’ve seen in many years. It had me in tears and belly laughing. Beautifully written and expertly performed. Stunningly good. ~Megan Watts. This is an important play, ~Alan Hopgood. While I can see the influences of Harold Pinter, this is not Pinter. This is an original voice ~Bruce Beresford I laughed, I cried, I felt. It’s raw and extremely real. The actors are beyond amazing, the writing is phenomenal. It was an occasional shifting of bodies that brought you back to the reality that reminded you that this was a play. ~Natalie Powel I think it’s fair to say that any play that holds your attention for 90 minutes is something special. Having been in the audience, I can tell you this is that play. Miss it at your peril. ~Simon Walters Thoroughly enjoyed this yesterday. If you get the chance recommended very highly. Funny, touching and poignant. Great performances by all involved. ~Brian Molony It’s refreshing honest and raw yet uplifting. I don’t think I’ve seen anything like this on the topic of suicide. Fantastic script and performances. ~Marie Budimir Brilliant is all I can say. It’s a story that needs to be told and everyone needs to see it. ~Charlie Heylar A fantastic play dealing with Life issues. Entertaining, funny, sad, and thoughtful. Not to be missed! ~Damien Mecoles

08.01.2022 Last night we had a reading with the actors. I was feeling jaded. Why am I doing this? But then the play came to life and all of us were so profoundly moved, our tanks were refilled. It has such a power to it. So this morning I’m back knocking on doors because life gave me two gifts, the ability to write and the ability to knock. This play and the effect it has on people, the way it disrupts the silence is worth the risk of being found annoying. We have the product, pass...ion, commitment and the plan, and there is a huge need for what we have, but what we need is a brave champion. 06.01.2022 FUND RAISING MERCHANDISE We didn't really want to do Merchandising with this piece, but here is a great way to help raise the funds we need. These T- shirts are all $40. ... Just over 1/3 goes to the printers & the rest will go into the production kitty. Bring your T-shirt to the Premiere and the actors will sign it.
