21.01.2022 I Manage My Music are presenting a series of online masterclasses for self managed early career artists to connect with more established artists to discuss their practice. In the fast paced world of social media, a picture paints a thousand words. We all know how important the visual components of an album have become in telling the story of a release, but how do we find our vision? NGAIIRE and her creative producer and artistic collaborator Dan Segal will discuss the visual ...journey of Ngaiire’s soon to be released third studio album. Her first single Shiver took a slightly different turn to your usual music video in the form of a short doco shot in Ngaiire's home country of Papua New Guinea. We’ll talk about Ngaiire’s distinctive visual approach for her new album, encompassing what it means to be Papua New Guinean but also a member of the diaspora in Australia. Find out more about the masterclasses online here: http://www.imanagemymusic.com/

21.01.2022 Less than one week left to check out our latest presentation - the stunning three-screen installation Gudirr Gudirr featuring our Artistic Co-Director Dalisa Pigram (check out the pic from filming below). Gudirr Gudirr is the warning call of the guwayi bird, issued when the tide is turning - to miss the call is to drown. By turns hesitant, restless, resilient and angry, Gudirr Gudirr lights a path from a broken past through a fragile present and towards an uncertain future. Visit the installation at Shinju Matsuri until 5 September. Find out more https://shinjumatsuri.com.au//gudirr-gudirr-video-installa

10.01.2022 In 2021 we return to the stage with our award-winning production Le Dernier Appel / The Last Cry at Black Swan State Theatre Company. Inspired by the ongoing series of New Caledonia’s referendums on independence from France and Australia’s decades of debate over Indigenous recognition and treaty, Le Dernier Appel explores the aftermaths of colonisation, seeking what to embrace of the new and what to let fall. While governments debate, peoples born of invasion, migration and displacement, wait for the new day. Tickets are on sale now for our season from the 12 - 15 May!
