21.01.2022 Throwback to May 2019 when I married Jarrad and Michael. Their son Reid was included in every part of the day, and he really made an impression on me! Having 2 boys myself, I adore kids and I loved chatting with Reid and was super proud seeing him shoulder the expectation of the day so mightily. He’s a really good egg, with a huge heart. Recently, during lockdown, Reid has started a new business, based on kindness. (@reidwilliam_)... At a time when the world needs more kindness, I applaud my little buddy and his determination. Seeing the light in the world makes every day brighter. I talk about kindness all the time to my boys, I think it’s the most important lesson kids can learn. I can’t wait to see Reid’s venture unfold and give him a big hug when I can. 20.01.2022 Weddings in the time of Covid, part 2. Further to my last post....Small is so so beautiful!!! There may only have been 5 of us there in person, with everyone one else watching on Zoom, but the feeling was powerful. (This was back in July, masks werent required yet). Currently, weddings are still banned in Melbourne. The first time in history this has happened. Behind the scenes, there have been a million phone calls, emails and Facebook posts as the wedd...ing peeps of Melbourne try to figure out the rules. Its waay more confusing that you might think. The changing goalposts of metro v regional/can we travel to work/are children included in numbers/inside v outside ceremonies/private property v wedding venue differences/ masks on or off during ceremonies.... the list is endless. 14.01.2022 Weddings in the time of Covid-19. This was back in July. One day after new, tough restrictions were introduced meaning only 5 ppl including the couple could attend a wedding. Chenoa and Jamie were faced with so many setbacks, but yet they forged on. Nothing was going to stop them getting married. It was super emotional, and I teared up several times, especially when both of them were dropped off to the venue by loved ones, but entered alone. Weddings ar...e always a gift for me to be part of, but this one had so much more at stake. Along with Lucy and Al from @shetakespictureshemakesfilms who made up the other legally allowed attendees, we pulled out all the stops to ensure their celebration was perfect. And when I reflect on these photos, I get all the feels. They are the perfect reminder that a wedding is just one day, youve got the rest of your married lives to make a start on. So, to anyone reading this whove had their plans disrupted, please know what whatever your wedding day looks like, youll still be married at the end of it. Youll still love it! It might feel overwhelming now, but it wont be like this forever. Every single person in the world understands the gravity of the pandemic we are living through and just want you to be happy. Zoom is definitely our friend! 12.01.2022 Throwback to Friday 27th September 2019 - to my beautiful Jaimee & Patricks ceremony at Alatonero. Such a special couple, they really have a place in my heart. Together for 10 years prior to getting married, they were already nailing the couple thing. They love exploring new cities, restaurants, beaches and pubs. Their perfect weekend involves food, coffee, a long walk, topped off with antipasto and lots of beer and wine. Spending time with family and fri...ends is also very important to them both, and they agree that family is everything. But they definitely have their differencesJaimee is definitely not a planner, she is a wing-it kinda girl which drives Pat crazy. While she can organise things, I dont think anyone would call Jaimee organised. Whilst Pat is a light sleeper, Jaimee can sleep anywhere and wouldnt hear a dump truck in their lounge room. Jaimee is forever losing things, forgetting things, and seems to make decisions based more on random superstitions or Google searches than any factual research. She is Christmas obsessed and has a never-ending need for hugs. Pat is sports mad and loves cricket much to Jaimees disdain. He cant sit still and loves to be on the go. There is no such thing as a lazy Sunday as far as Pat is concerned, he always likes to have something planned. He is also loves to sing, but unfortunately for everyone around him... he cant.
