23.01.2022 About Me | Georgia, Marriage Celebrant 1. I am a Mum to two boys and one very antisocial cat 2. I once took skiing lessons whilst holidaying in the USA. I somehow missed the lesson on how to stop, so instead retired to the lodge bar for the remainder of the day. That's much safer, right? 3. I finished the year-long marriage celebrant course in two months... 4. My favourite movie is Love Actually. I do love, love, after all 5. I have a bird phobia 6. I once ran a half marathon, albeit slowly 7. My birthday is on Boxing Day, and therefore absolutely love Christmas time 8. I made the second round of auditions for MasterChef in Melbourne 9. I accidentally became a Microsoft Excel enthusiast 10. My music taste is stuck in the early 2000's; Avril Lavigne, anyone? 11. I'm an avid podcast listener, with my favourites being ABC's Conversations and anything true crime 12. My husband Dan, is my web designer 13. My paternal Grandmother was a prima ballerina in the Australian Ballet. Needless to say, I didn't get her poise 14. I found scuba diving exponentially scarier than sky diving 15. My first job, aged eight, was picking bindis out of the garden for 2.5 cents each 16. I was lucky enough to see the northern lights in Alaska three nights in a row 17. I prefer lunch foods to breakfast foods 18. Whilst at uni I worked at Bunnings in the kids department. My role was to make balloon animals and use my novice art skills to paint children's faces 19. I believe that pineapple is essential on pizza 20. I am an amateur wedding cake baker Learn more about me and my role as a marriage celebrant here: https://www.marryus.com.au/my-story/ This image was taken by a complete stranger. She had snapped a photo of the Kingscliff scenery, and upon looking at it realised she'd captured a moment of Will and I playing. She very kindly came up to me and offered to send me a copy. People can be so lovely

12.01.2022 Choosing the right Marriage Celebrant for you is a big decision. The wedding ceremony creates the vibe for the day, and you want it to be memorable for all the right reasons! Here's a little more to get to know me: I am a HR Specialist by day. I became a Marriage Celebrant for my love of love, and have found many skills overlap between the two roles I love to evoke laughter and a few happy tears by telling stories of the couple and sharing annecdotes and insights. Eve...ry ceremony starts as a blank page and I personally write the ceremony based on the couple I adore Review Australia clothes and am often perusing their website for the perfect dress to wear to complement the outfits of the stunning brides and grooms To get to know me further, checkout the videos on my website or send me a message and I'll arrange a video or phone catchup to have a chat And yes, that's children's artwork (not mine) behind me

09.01.2022 My blog post this week is all about what to consider when selecting a Marriage Celebrant for your wedding day https://www.marryus.com.au//what-to-consider-when-selecti/
08.01.2022 I've received some questions about getting married whilst the Coronavirus restrictions are in place. The short answer is yes, you can still get married The federal government has stipulated that "Weddings can be conducted with no more than 5 people, including the couple, the celebrant and the witnesses. The 4 square metre rule and social distancing must be observed." Your two witnesses may be anyone over the age of 18. They do not have to be known to you, so you may wish t...o have a photographer, videographer, or two friends or family members as witnesses. Your ceremony can still be traditional, with your love story, anecdotes, personalised vows, walking down the aisle and your choice of music, or it can be short and sweet - it's totally up to you! It's still your day, we'll just have the additions of sanitiser, fewer guests, social distancing, and a fun story to tell future generations - the tale of you getting married in a pandemic! You may also wish to live stream the ceremony to your guests, or record it and have a viewing party. Under the Marriage Act, it's a requirement that couples provide their notice of intended marriage one month prior to the ceremony date, and this remains unchanged. If you'd rather wait out the restrictions, we can still do all of the paperwork and provide the notice with a future date pencilled in. We can always push the date forward or back as needed subject to the regulations in place. I have flexibility for 2020/2021. I welcome a chat anytime to talk through how we can create your perfect ceremony; even in what could be described as imperfect times x
08.01.2022 It's four sleeps until Christmas, and truth be told, I'm pretty excited. I have loved Christmas for as long as I can remember. As a child, we would wake up before the sun to tear open our presents, and enjoy warm buttery croissants for breakky. These were often accompanied by treats of chocolate coins and soft drink which were hidden in our stockings. The day then consisted of spending time with family, festive attire (The essentials - Santa hat, flashing glasses and a fun d...ress/shirt), an abundance of food, lazing in the pool for endless hours, listening to the same eleven Christmas songs on repeat, gawking at the cracker jokes, and letting our competitive spirit show with a contest to find a charm inside the chocolate Christmas pudding. These traditions still stand, and seeing them through the eyes of the next generation of children is just that little bit more exciting!
07.01.2022 When I ask brides and grooms how their wedding planning is going, the response often includes "I just feel like I've forgotten something." Drawing on my experiences as a marriage celebrant and in planning my own wedding, I have written an article on the things that are often forgotten by brides and grooms. I hope that this helps make your wedding planning that little bit easier https://www.marryus.com.au//wedding-planning-five-things-/
07.01.2022 As a Marriage Celebrant, it is exceptionally important to me that each ceremony is absolutely perfect. That's why: I bring energy, professionalism, a laugh, a smile, and a modern approach to my role I personalise each ceremony to ensure that it's tailored to the couple getting married. If you choose to get married with me, I will meet with you to learn about your ceremony vision. To further tailor the ceremony script, I will ask all about your love story, and get you b...oth to complete a questionnaire about what marriage means to you, and what you love about eachother. This allows me to perfect the personalisation and tell your story from start to finish I guide you through the entire process with efficient communication and clear processes. I promise that no email or call will go un-responded to You can be confident that everything will be completed efficiently, legally and professionally. I pride myself on attention to detail I have a modern PA system and cordless microphone, to ensure that the entire ceremony can be heard clearly I have developed comprehensive wedding checklists which are available on my website for free, to ensure that you cover everything for your special day I am registered for the online Births, Deaths and Marriages portal in Queensland. This ensures accuracy, professional certificate presentation, and makes the process easier when ordering the official paperwork I am a Justice of the Peace (Qual) and am always happy to certify documents for brides and grooms To find out more, or to contact me (I have dates available in 2020!), I welcome you to visit my website: www.marryus.com.au

06.01.2022 Same beautiful couple, same stunning Maleny location, each photo taken one year apart. What a gorgeous anniversary tradition Nicole and Leigh have, recreating this gorgeous picture
06.01.2022 As a young, fun and enthusiastic Marriage Celebrant, I pride myself on tailoring and personalising each wedding ceremony to make it meaningful. I take the time to get to know each couples' love story, and their ceremony vision. The Marriage Act has a small text and vows to be read verbatim, and the rest is up to us! In our first meeting, I'll get to know you as a couple, your dream ceremony vibe (fun, romantic, funny, traditional, a bit of everything?), and ask you all about ...the two of you. I'll also get you to complete a questionnaire about your husband/wife to-be. Equipped with this information, I can write your ceremony. I love sharing the traits that each person adores about the other, the moment they realised they were in love, the journey to getting married, the couples' favourite memories, what marriage means in their own words, and their future plans. Every ceremony is lovingly written with two people front and centre www.marryus.com.au

04.01.2022 I thought I'd share the gorgeous personal touch that a good friend of mine had at her wedding as the order of ceremony booklet. It was such a pleasure to help her put this together, and it really set the mood for the day I've got an editable template for this in PPT format. If you would like it, please just pop me a message or it'll be on my website over the coming week NB: It's been amended slightly to remove the identifiable information of the bridal party.
03.01.2022 "It came without ribbons, it came without tags. It came without packages, boxes, or bags. Maybe Christmas (he thought) doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas perhaps means a little bit more. The Grinch
02.01.2022 It is with excitement that I share with you some wedding planning tools that have been years in the making. When I first started planning my own wedding, I soon learned that there were very few comprehensive checklists available for wedding planning in Australia. Those that were available were either not editable, or they were costly. So, I created my own. It is with delight that I share with you my FREE Wedding Planning Toolkit. It's filled with editable checklists that can... be used from the day of becoming engaged, right through to post-wedding life-admin; changing your name. I hope that these are of great assistance. If you know anyone planning a wedding, please tag or share this with them. https://www.marryus.com.au/wedding-toolkit/

01.01.2022 Does this summarise anyone else's childhood?
01.01.2022 Love stories often begin in the most ordinary of places. 15 years ago I worked at Bunnings. That's where I met my now-husband, whom I knew as 'Dan from Power Gardening'. Needless to say, we couldn't resist buying their Lego set for our little boys room
