25.01.2022 How good is this! The Andrews Labor Government will make it easier for cyclists and pedestrians to travel over the Maribyrnong River, with a major upgrade of th...e Raleigh Road Bridge Share User Path in Maribyrnong. I am really pleased that community consultation and planning is underway. This fantastic project will create a safer and more accessible route for pedestrians and cyclists crossing the Maribyrnong River, connecting communities in Melbourne’s north-west. Safety improvements on the Raleigh Road Bridge will encourage more locals to leave the car at home and walk or ride. More than 33,000 vehicle sand up to 3000 pedestrians and cyclists travel on this section of Raleigh Road each day. The safety of cyclists and pedestrians crossing the Raleigh Rd Bridge has been a local concern for many years and I’m proud our Government is doing something to fix it.

23.01.2022 I’ll never ever forget what a nurse at the Royal Children’s Hospital once told me... Every day, you walk out having given everything you’ve gotbut never feeli...ng you did everything you could. She was referring to the small things. Those extra minutes spent caring for a patient. The extra time spent listening to their family. and even if nothing could be done, making sure those last moments are as comfortable as they can be. It matters. That’s why we’re doing this:

18.01.2022 If you get the opportunity I strongly urge you to get along to the art show by the students from Footscray City College currently being held at VU in the Community's, Metrowest Gallery. The work is outstanding with both two and three dimensional art/design/media/photography and ceramic work by students from years 7 to 12. It certainly deserves it place in this professional gallery space, and this is the kind of collaboration we can start to expect as the Footscray Learning Precinct takes shape. The show will run for a week up to next Wednesday.

15.01.2022 Popped in to the Footscray Community Bike Shed yesterday to congratulate them on their successful Pick my Project. As a result the Shed will receive $100,000 to 'collect donated bicycles from members of the community, repair them and provide them for free to children and those members of our community in need. In order to be sustainable, [they] will also repair and sell recycled bicycles, plus provide important bike education to our community through practical school and community education programs. Programs will include learn to ride, basic bicycle maintenance, plus a build a bike program and a bicycle exchange program for children, refugees and those in need'. Great initiative, well done guys! https://pickmyproject.vic.gov.au//footscray-community-bike

12.01.2022 Big month. Put it on the fridge and don't forget the 24th.

08.01.2022 It's so important when we live in cities that we have beautiful natural spaces to play in and experience. To spend time in natural environments like Pipemakers Park is grounding and good for the soul. That's why we're investing more than $1 million to create a a new nature play space reflecting the environment of the surrounding park. This will be a sensory experience for kids of all ages and abilities. On top of that we'll be restoring the History Garden, creating better a...ccess paths, installing new cycling signs and making new paths through bushland areas. Katie Hall - Labor for Footscray told me how wonderful it will be to have a child-friendly nature park, and I couldn't agree more. May it be a source of joy for generations to come!

08.01.2022 For 45 years Concern Australia has been helping vulnerable young people with education, housing and justice, so it was an absolute privilege to represent Ben Carroll MP to open their new North West Region office in Braybrook yesterday. You may have heard of their Hand Brake Turn program that provides automotive work skills training - and yesterday I was fortunate to meet one of its former students, Justin Bowen Racing, who went on to become a Formula 500 racing driver! 08.01.2022 Melbourne's west is booming. So if re-elected, we'll build this. $1.5 billion. 504 beds.... That's how you deal with growth. Building for all Victorians. Not just telling them where they have to live.

06.01.2022 Footscray Historical Society are celebrating their 50 Years anniversary this weekend at Metro West. They have been such a valuable asset to the inner west helping to document and understand the very unique and vibrant history of this incredible area. For more information on how to attend please see their Facebook events page: https://www.facebook.com/events/902983909890222/ Happy anniversary Footscray Historical Society, may there be many many more!

06.01.2022 More than 3,000 Australians take their own life every year. Imagine what we'd do if 3,000 people were getting gunned down on the street in this country? The gea...rs of the nation's entire political system would be straining, trying to solve it. But say '3,000 suicides', and that same system turns its back. The fact is, we don't have the best mental health system we possibly could. We can't honestly claim to be providing the right care to everyone who needs it, when they need it. Only when a person is in real crisis do they get help. And by then, it's often too late. I don't ever expect to be able to save every life but for God's sake, I think we could do a lot better. Our mental health system isn't working. We have to admit it. And we have to fix it. That's exactly what we'll do.

05.01.2022 We back Victorian workers who want a fair deal from Liberals and the big corporates. We want to see a decent minimum wage that people can live on. We support the restoration of penalty rates and a safe and equal workplace for women. #changetherules
