16.01.2022 Sometimes the conditions we see seem to go in phases, eg plantar fasciitis. Today’s accidentally Dad joke: Hmm yep I’ve got a lot of feet walking in at the moment ... No? Just us?... We look after the whole body, including extremities and yes, the feet! Our feet get a lot of use and need some TLC every now and then. We adjust the bones of the feet, work with the soft tissues, and give you exercises to get rid of pain, optimise function and keep your feet moving we also check everything else - pelvic problems and knee issues can contribute to, or even cause, foot problems

09.01.2022 That weekend feeling make sure you get your rest in despite everything seeming to speed up towards the end of the year! . Rest doesn’t need to be lying on the couch in front of Netflix - it can also look like: A walk with a friend Yoga... A mindful cup of tea in the backyard Reading a book in the park Quality time with a loved one Taking yourself for a solo coffee . And many more! Remember rest = rejuvenation, calm and healing. Rest is important for your health . . . . . . . . . . #perthchiro #maylandschiro #healthyliving #healthylifestyle #spinalhealth #structuralhealth #wellness #perthwellness #welladjusted #rest #weekendrest #rejuvenate #restandrejuvenate #sillyseason #kixxfit #kixxfitsteph #yoga #walking #movement #mindfulness #health #wellbeing #wellness #nervoussystem #parasympathetics #calm #repair #healing See more

04.01.2022 Whilst Christmas time is a time of cheer and merriment, for a lot of us it can be a time of stress and busy-ness There can be so much to do meet final work deadlines for the year, fit in time to buy presents, attend a million social events, try and keep up your exercise and still get 8 hours sleep a night Add in some possible family drama and we have a perfect environment for peaking stress levels! . The good news is there are simple ways to reduce Festive Stress, as ...we’re going to call it. Here’s our tops tips: 1. SAY NO Set some clear boundaries with yourself what is important over the next 3 weeks, and what is not? If it’s family time, prioritise family activities and say no to that second or third work function. 2. Consider consumerism. We hear from our patients that a lot of stress comes from present buying ensuring it’s a good gift, sticking to budgets etc Have a think do you really need to buy all those presents for all those people? How about suggesting a Secret Santa for your family do instead of individuals presents? How about something homemade, like a batch of rum balls or Christmas cookies? 3. Factor in You Time. Making sure you have down time and exercise time during the festive season is super important for your health, and if you have a few days off after Christmas it will mean you can enjoy them rather than crashing out after a super busy few weeks . Got more tips? What are your go-to ways to reduce Festive Stress? We’d love to hear comment below! . . . . . . . . . . #christmas #stress #christmasstress #holidaystress #healthyboundaries #justsayno #rest #sleep #repair #chiropractic #marslenchiropractic #health #wellness #wellbeing #perthchiro #maylandschiro #perthwellness #perthhealth #perthchiropractor #lowbackpain #headaches #neckpain #spinalcare #nervoussystem #brain #brainpower #helpinghands See more

02.01.2022 Today is a good day to stay inside with your best mate and read a book our chiro Dr. Greg likes to peruse diagnostic manuals for fun (pictured) but we think fiction is more appropriate for a stormy Friday afternoon

02.01.2022 Let’s look on the bright side - what can we do to help ourselves?? . It can be easy to feel anxious or stressed in these uncertain times! Doing simple things to help boost your own health can help you feel calm and more in control . Here’s our top tips:... Stay calm. Stress affects our immune system, so it’s important to ensure we are avoiding the fear mongering and sensationalism, doing our bit to help society but staying calm as we do so. Meditation helps! Get some sunshine! It is a free boost of Vitamin D. Just 10 minutes a day is enough Wash your hands regularly and thoroughly with plain soap (hint: the more expensive antibacterial stuff isn’t helpful against viruses) Stay active. Regular exercise not only helps our immune system but boosts our overall health Eat whole, healthy foods, especially your green leafy vegetables Avoid sugar, processed foods and junk food Get your zzz’s sleep is when your body rests, repairs and heals Practice social distancing. We can all do our bit to reduce the spread of this virus . We are OPEN at this time to help you, doing our bit to reduce pressure on our health care system by providing for all your chiropractic related health needs See more

01.01.2022 Results from the Safer Care Victoria review into chiropractic care for kids: 99.7% of nearly 22,000 submissions reported POSITIVELY about their experience of chiropractic care for their children. 98% reported improvement with treatment.... And evidence of harm? Zero. This is supported in the research, showing no serious adverse events related to chiropractic paediatric care. There has also never been a malpractice claim relating to chiropractic paediatric practice in Australia. From our association: The public consultation that formed a part of the Safer Care Victoria review was one of the largest in Australian history, as well as one of the most emphatic, with more than 99 per cent of the nearly 27,000 members of the public who participated being supportive of the profession caring for their children. These are people on the ground who have seen first-hand the benefits chiropractic care can provide and have voted with their feet." From our family to yours, we would like to thank our patients and community members for supporting our profession and your rights to your choice of health care for your children. We look forward to continuing to care for all members of the family from new babies to grandparents at Marslen Chiropractic Centre
