16.01.2022 Request for Volunteers for Bush Fire Recovery: Creating a Voluntary Therapist Collective for OTs Psychologists, Counsellors and other trained professionals around the Nation who can help support victims of the Bush Fires. Those specialising in grief, loss, trauma and any of us trained who can help support children, adults, families and people affected by the devastation. The fires will finally stop but the effects will last much longer. Lets contribute what skills and time w...e have to support others. With trained professionals located all across Australia, I believe together we can create an outreach support to people affected by the fires. Whether you could offer voluntary individual or group support; short, medium or long term support. Please let me know if you're keen to help!! Ill need you to PM me your email address or mobile number and I'll send you a form to collect your name, profession, contact details, what geographical area you could reach out to, as well as an approximate commitment of time you could offer (not including travel), e.g., weekly hrs, monthly visits etc; population of experience: e.g., paediatrics, adults, family, aged acre etc. Areas of expertise eg, grief & loss, trauma, PTSD, mental health, OT role support, life skills, gratitude development, rehabilitation, equipment prescription, burns etc etc. The more information you can provide regarding what you may be able to offer the better! Also if you cannot Outreach in person, could you Outreach via tele-health, skype, if these services available to be received at some stage.
