25.01.2022 First customer for the season was very impressed with our new Taege 3meter dual box, tyne seed drill. As you can see residual pasture is not a problem, unlike some other Tyne seed drills. Keep in mind this paddock hasnt been cultivated in over 15 years!! One of the key features of this drill is its accuracy. Due to its foam metering system we can accurately sow as low as 0.5kg/ha.

24.01.2022 Check out this Avalon Ryegrass and clover stand that was direct drilled with our Taege seed drill only 4 weeks ago!! Ryegrass was sown down the tube and clover was broadcasted out the back of the drill.

23.01.2022 Mowing some magnificent pasture for pit silage today. This Paddock of Hummer Fescue and Balansa Clover, was sown in April, and grazed three times, before being locked up.

21.01.2022 Avalon Ryegrass, Gosse Sub Clover, Tribute White Clover and Balansa Clover mix. It doesnt get any better than this.

20.01.2022 Mowing some beautiful Ryegrass and Balansa Clover Pasture, for one of Shauns clients this afternoon. The quantity and quality of the pasture in the districts just to the north of Colac, has been excellent so far this year. But unless we get some good rain soon, things will go off very quickly, once we get the first spell of warm weather. The only saving grace so far over the past couple of weeks, is that it has remained cool, but conditions have become deceptively dry and crusty on top.

19.01.2022 Wolverston Park. Martin Farm. Irrewarra 30-3-2018 Dry Sowing annual Ryegrass and Balansa Clover into Winifred Forage Brassica, on the heavy black basalt flats.

18.01.2022 And another paddock done. Drilling heavy black flat country today, the type of ground that sticks to everything, when it gets damp. And by the looks of the forecast, from Wednesday night through to late Friday, we could get anywhere between 30mm and 50mm, fingers crossed see what happens.

17.01.2022 Mowing some good crops of pasture for hay.

17.01.2022 Mowing another exceptional stand of Balansa Clover and Ryegrass today. Shaun would like to thank all his customers for the work.

16.01.2022 Its been a very busy year on the Taege Seeder, still going around and around.

15.01.2022 Mowing grass for hay in southern Irrewarra this afternoon. Near the big new roundabout.

11.01.2022 Sowing pasture in the foothills of the Otway Ranges today. With an "Emu " looking on. I was driving the tractor for Shaun today, when an Emu appeared. First time for everything, seen plenty of Emus north of the dividing range, but the first time i have seen one in a paddock down here.

10.01.2022 Gday one and all. I am on the property of Helliview Suffolk and Poll Herefords In Northern Irrewarra today, with Otway Helicopters. Inspecting some magnificent crops and pasture mixes sown down in the autumn with the drill, as well as aerial sown with the Helicopter. We are also completing the last aerial application of our liquid fertiliser trails for the year on this farm. Thanks for your time, all the best from John and Shaun Martin, Martin Agricultural Contracting and Consulting and Robert and Sandra Martin Otway Helicopters Pty Ltd

09.01.2022 As requested, heres a short video of the drill in action today.

09.01.2022 Well thats another paddock down, and another happy customer. With a few hundred acres on the clock now over the past couple of weeks, this Seeder has performed very well. From very fine clover seed, to cereals, and the combination of the both, the accuracy of this Seeder has been exceptional. Thanks everyone for giving Shaun of Martin Agricultural Contracting a go, now bring some more rain in a few days time.

05.01.2022 Wolverston Park. Martin Farm. Irrewarra 22-3-2018 I am back on the heavy land leveller tonight. This simple heavy machine, smashes this heavy pugged black basalt soil, and levels all in one pass. Ready to direct seed into. Isaac Johnstone Shaun Martin Sandra Martin Rachael Martin

05.01.2022 Living on the edge. Sowing some steep country today, nearly need the services of Otway Helicopters, its that steep.

03.01.2022 Wolverston Park. Martin Farm. Irrewarra 10-7-2018 Cavalier Spineless Burr Medic, with Balansa Clover and Annual Ryegrass. With NO Urea. (First light grazing 1st... week in June) Here is an example of what can be grown, without the application of artificial nitrogen. But I must stress this example, is grown on some of the best free draining, fertile soil on the farm. With a history of growing many tonnes per/hectare of medic and clover pasture in the past. So mineralised nitrogen, is in abundance in this soil profile. But still to grow pasture like this, with many frosts, cold soil temperatures, and the least amount of daylight hours, without artificial nitrogen, is pretty good I think. See more

02.01.2022 Mowing at Northern Irrewarra today. Nice view at the top of the hill. Yes there is hills in Irrewarra.

01.01.2022 Wolverston Park. Irrewarra 29-10-2017 Direct sowing Winifred Forage Brassica, into Barley stubble that was sprayed out with Glyphosate. This Paddock is pure sand, and so direct sowing was chosen over full seed bed preparation, in order to help prevent summer wind erosion, blowing the sand and damaging the newly sown seedlings. Lets see how it turns out.
