10.01.2022 It is important to understand that as Ahpra-registered health practitioners , Chinese medicine and acupuncture practitioners are held to high standards and are not permitted to make false or misleading claims. But you may always be suspect of those selling "devices" and commercial promotion.

02.01.2022 Top Health Official Issues Telehealth Warning After GP's 'Chatbot' Consult A GP registrar has reportedly retracted their $74 MBS claim for the four-minute, 48-second consult A top health bureaucrat has told telehealth corporates their future is on trial after he had a four-question chatbot-type exchange with a GP who then billed a level C. Shane Solomon is chair of the Independent Hospital Pricing Authority, which advises the Federal Government on funding for public hospi...tals. But last week he took to social media about his experience with GP telehealth, having booked a consult via Medinet an app part-owned by the founder of MyHealth Medical Centres which he said was no different to using a "vending machine". He said the consultation was conducted entirely via instant messages, culminating in a script being sent to him electronically. It took four minutes and 48 seconds from start to finish, he claimed, and involved no communication with the doctor via phone or video. Mr Solomon said the doctor subsequently billed the new telehealth item for a level C consult worth $73.95. So disappointed with how some companies are misusing the new Medicare telehealth items, Mr Solomon wrote on LinkedIn. In relation to the specific consultation, the way it was done, it didn’t need a doctor at all a vending machine would have been equivalent. That might be OK for some repeat prescriptions, but if it is, why should Medicare pay $74? He said he later found out the doctor was a GP registrar, saying he went through the effort of checking "because it was so like a chatbot I wanted to be sure there was a real person there". Mr Solomon, a former managing director of Telstra Health himself, warned that if telehealth was being done badly, then funders and regulators would "step in and stop it".
